Wtf... I'm in dual enrollment for Pre-Cal in high school and I paid my fees already for this class and credits. The college I'm getting the credits from have the nerve to charge me THAT much. Apparently, it's from out of state tuition... I've lived here since I was like 5 years old.
WHAT DO THEY DO WITH THAT -blam!-ING MONEY?
This is exactly why people aren't educated enough in this country, we charge too damn much, I feel sorry for those who want to travel to another college in another state, only to be bombarded with fees just for being an outside resident, unless they have scholarships. God... My account even says I don't have fees.
UPDATE: Looks like they were in the wrong, everything is paid and whatnot on a tab I didn't click. No balance and it turns out the letter was over a week old. That was a scare to me and the family. We would've given them hell if that was a mistake. Either way, I don't see why there's "out of state" even on there in the first place...

You can get a scholarship for just about anything these days. There's utterly no excuse NOT to take that money and get a degree to make a lot of money. Most employers won't even hire you if you don't have some sort of higher education as it shows one of two things: 1. You have already been trained and thus the company won't need to spend thousands of dollars on an asset that may leave in a couple years, thus making it a bad investment for them 2. A college education proves that you are able to be dedicated and perform more independently along with completing many assignments in a short amount of time
-
This is why you teach yourself. There's no legal obligation to sit through lessons, you just need to take the exam at a certified institution. Most colleges have an official system for external candidates, ring them up and ask.

Only $1000 US dollars? Man, what a steal. One years education for me costs roughly 7grand.
-
That is why I am going to go to the UK to go to college!
-
All the dual enrollment classes I took in high school were free...and my college tuition was payed for by scholarships, with money left over...
-
How much does going to college and getting a degree cost in the US anyway? :o
-
I wanna hold your hand.
-
I dropped out of college because I couldn't afford the books, gas, online schedule, online class, and assignments. I have better luck starting a business.
-
Woah! Maricopa County?!?!!!!!!
-
There's a ton of more reasons too, I really wish our Education was better.

It's one of the problems. Specifically the issue is that most well paying jobs require a college education and the high cost is so prohibitive that it's stifling upward social mobility and working to erase the middle class and turn America into a third world nation. Even the people who do go to college and graduate end up with so much debt that they put off buying the typical American Dream items of homes, major appliances and a car.

>Americans >Greedy Pick both.
-
Actually you have people who cant afford college who are still going.

I started the Yunoit and yunoit!

>American education >Getting a bill for classes lolprivateschool

Then take it up with the administration before bitching about it on the internet. It could be an error.
-
It could be fraud. Anyone can buy some fancy paper and type something like this up on their PC.
-
Ouch. Pay it to them in 1$ bills. Make it rain faigt :D

#capitalism

If you've lived in that location for as many years as you are implying, I'd challenge that. Usually "out of state" fees are only charged if you just moved to an area or have lived there for shorter than like 7 years or some arbitrary number.
WHAT DO THEY DO WITH THAT -blam!-ING MONEY?
Buy fancy cars to drive to their education board meetings in.

And my balance is "OUTSTANDING" according to them!
