He says that DVD's and Blu-rays scratch easier. Nothing I say will convince him. Yes, I am being serious about this.

Who remembers VCRs where you had to fiddle with the little knobs to track each video you played? And automatic tape rewinders? lolVHS
-
Is he a "90's kid"?
-
Blu rays scratch about as much as you're willing to scratch them, it's completely user error. Tapes being eaten on the other hand is technical error and completely out of your control. Anyone who actually used VHS for the better portion of their lives are more likely to side with Blu Ray on this one. I get the feeling your friend did not grow up with it for the most part. It's like claiming dial up is better: it's just not. They had their time in the sun, but there's a reason we moved on.

Just say to him that you don't like to argue with the mentally challenged and that you are ok with his lifestyle choice of being a retard.
-
kill him
-
You should beat him with his VHS, see how much he likes it after that.
-
VHS is master race. Except for the fact that if the film get pulled out, your done.
-
*buys brand new VHS* *leaves in damp shoebox for 10 years* *converts to DVD* there; all the benefits of a VHS coupled with all the benefits of a DVD PERFECT!!!!
-
Show him this picture^
-
Bail out of the friendship now. First it's "VHS is better than blu-ray", then he's smoking your grandmother's ashes while stealing your valuables.
-
But he's right.
-
Rub magnets on his VHS collection.
-
Blu-ray discs are tough as nails, one reason why PS3 >>>> 360. Never had a single PS3 game get scratched.
-

He's an idiot. VHS is much more cumbersome and impractical than using a disc. Just because he's stuck in the 80s or 90s that doesn't mean progression of technology is a bad thing.
-
Does he have Shrek on VHS?
