I know most of you guys have taken a side of which console you like more at this point, but I still have not, sadly.
You see, it really comes down to one major point, and that is my friends IN REAL LIFE. (Yes, that's actually a thing)
Now you see, a majority of my friends that have bought a next-gen console have purchased an Xbox One. The current total is
4 Xbone's
1 PS4
Now, I personally think the PS4 is the better system, but that's because I've been with Sony from the beginning (PS1) and didn't even join the Xbox community until 2009. Don't get me wrong, It's not that I don't like Xbox, it's just that I have a biased based upon the nostalgia and experience I simply cannot put behind myself.
But, I fear that if I do purchase a PS4, everyone I know will have a "hoot-n-holler'n" time over on Xbox. What should I do guys? I am in a serious predicament here.

Do what im doing. Im planning on getting an xbox one, but not till the summer. This way all the bugs are fixed and there are more games available
-
Xbox One may be shit, and I actually own one. However, PS4 isn't much better since the exclusives are minimal and shitty, along with the fact that it doesn't have Halo (which probably doesn't matter that much now anyway). If your friends are getting X1, you might as well too. There's really nothing special you're missing out on, other than things that PS4 has at launch that X1 doesn't for a small period of time.
-
My friends voted 85% to get xb1 and that's what we all got. You said it yourself it was about gaming with friends. Don't be that guy left out.
-
Get an Xbox One now, and a PS4 down the road.
-
I'd stick with your friends dude. Xbox One.
-
That's a difficult one. I have both a PS3 and 360, and I'd say I've had a better time on the 360 with regards to online. I just think MS does that aspect better. PS4 is looking to improve on that, but I think there's something about Xbone that makes the connectivity with friends and other players look a lot more appealing. The fact that more of your friends are going to the Xbone will further enhance your social online experience. PS4 will ensure you get great exclusives games - which is important, though MS have said they have lots of stuff planned in that regard. Did most of your friends have a 360, whilst you enjoyed your PS3?
-
How often do you game with your friends? If you enjoy gaming with your friends and do it fairly often I'd advise going with what the majority of your friends are going with. So unless there is something about PS4 you REALLY want that Xbox can't provide to your liking, I'd advise Xbox.
-
If you want a very good gaming machine, PS4 is the way to go. If you want it to play games pretty well (that's not as good as PS4, but still very satisfactory), but provide you with a complete entertainment experience, go with XB1. In your case, unless all you use your television for is playing games, you'll have a good time on the Xbox. With friends, not friend.
-
PS4 has better hardware and the Xbox has better software.
-
Go with your friends... if for some reason the SNES made an ultra comeback and all my friends were playing Super Mario World Remastered HD you'd bet your ass I'd be playing it right there with them.
-
If you play on PS more then get the PS
-
Buy the console your friends are on and then save money for the PS4. Certainly you can afford born in a couple years when the price declines.
-
Wait for the new Xbox One with better specs that comes out in 6 months.
-
Do yourself a favor and save your money. Just hold out for more releases and see how things play out because right now both the Xbone and PS4 look terrible. If you get anything, get a handheld.
-
I'd say, just make your own choice instead of relying on total strangers over the internet.
-
I'd say go with your friends. That was a big part of why I made my decision- though admittedly the whole 'I have a history on the Xbox' thing coincided nicely with my friends' desires, which is not the case with you. If you go where you don't have friends, they'll all be playing together without you. Or talking about it... without you. That kind of thing. And you'd either need to get new friends so you have people to game with, or play alone. And while the former isn't necessarily a bad thing, I wouldn't say it is ideal to leave old friends behind just to make new ones (looking at you, Bungie).
-
I think you'll be happy with either. Don't believe all the crap being spouted on either console, both systems are solid. As always, if you're thinking about a multilayer perspective, and the majority of your friends are on the XB1, you'll enjoy your experiences there!
-
-blam!- your friends. Get the machine that had the games you want. Don't buy a machine if you hate the exclusives and don't like any if the games.
-
I'm in somewhat of a similar situation. All of my friends and I played on 360 last gen. About half of them are going PS. Ive been with Xbox for the last decade or so and with playstation for about 2.5 years now. For me personally, I've gotten more enjoyment out of the PS exclusives than the Xbox exclusives as of late; so Im going with PS. Eventually I will pick up the xbox but not till after a price drop.
-
I told all my friends who don't really pay attention to the industry, slightly exaggerated details about the Xbox one, so they want ps4s now. I'm good.
-
Go with your gut on this, you won't regret it.
-
It's the opposite for me. Literally ALL of my friends that are interested in the new consoles want a PS4, but I don't want to switch because of my 4 year old Xbox account
-
Go with what your friends have.
-
I guess it depends on how much funds you have but you could do what I'm doing and get one of them now and the other later.
-
Go with your friends. I was kinda in the same situation and ultimately decided that playing with friends is just more important to me.
-
Me too. I have 3 xbox buddies and like 1 ps friend. (Ok, so I'm old dork and don't have a huge group of local gamer friends) See I've wanted to go ps4 the whole way, but between virtually no ps pals and I'm not a big fan of the ps controller means I might have to just get back on xbl. Idk... I'm not deciding for a while.
