So, every time I keep hearing that we only use a fraction of our brain's power, and some humans have managed incredible stuff, with that fraction.
But what if we used our brain to its full potential? A hundred percent. What abilities would we gain? What things could we do that we wouldn't be able to do using only a fraction of it? Would there be any cons?

The REAL question is what if we unlocked 100% of our dicks.

We'd finally be able to see why kids love the taste of Cinnamon Toast Crunch.

All of your brain is used. Just not at once. You lose unused brain cells around the age of 6, if I remember correctly.
-
People have used 100% of their brain all at the same time before. It's called a seizure.

BEHOLD, PUNY MORTALS, FOR I HAVE LEARNT TO HARNESS THE FULL POWER OF MY BRAIN. ALLOW ME TO DEMONSTRATE MY NEW-FOUND POWER. THINK... OF A NUMBER... BETWEEN ONE... AND TEN...

That is the percentage rationed out to abstract thought, the rest goes into managing the body and ensuring you don't die while you're asleep because you forgot to breathe. This is actually why sleep is so vital, it allows your brain to downsize the amour rationed out to abstract thought, and physically rejuvenate the body in utter stillness. Due to the fact that you don't have to move, or think about very much, your body can repair itself and ration chemicals more evenly. So you do use 100% of you brain, but if it was all dedicated to abstract thought, you would be so focused on making your own heart beat that you wouldn't be able to think things up at all.

So, every time I keep hearing that we only use a fraction of our brain's power
That's wrong.
This. And aren't you the guy that already tried to make this thread?
-
We can't contemplate the possibilities as we don't have %100 of our brains unlocked. Or you're on the other side of the spectrum, the brain is like a CPU with a locked speed and only uses %20-%30 of its capacity. I think too much.

But we do use 100% of our brain.

I like how everyone immediately went for the whole "10%" bit. Shows how much brain power their using.

The whole ' we only use 10% of our brain' quote is 100% Grade A bullcrap. Why people think such an asinine thing is true I will never understand.

Probably be able to create a thread that doesn't suck.

We actually use most of our brains, but only a fraction at any given moment.

You would have to actively think about every heartbeat, actively control every living cell in your body. You would probably be significantly more intelligent, but I don't think it would be worth it.

So, every time I keep hearing that we only use a fraction of our brain's power And you never once thought "hang on, what if this is bullshit?"

We do. Do you seriously think evolution would allow a species to survive while only using 10% of its brain? That nonsensical idea has been debunked pretty thoroughly.
