You know that "Thanks, Obama" meme?
You'd be surprised about how many people actually take it seriously and blame Obama for mundane things that he has no control over. Just found this tidbit on Facebook, and the posts that reply to this, priceless. Here was one that made me laugh:

So, in your area, do people actually take memes such as the "Thanks, Obama" meme seriously? Same thing with the foreveralone, beta, 2spooky, etc.?

Of course not, it's just a joke. Obama just happened to become president when Meme's started to explode in popularity. I'm sure if Romney was president right now I would be spending equal time on MS Paint putting "Thanks Romney" on images of mundane misfortunes, and that's coming from a Libertarian Conservative Capitalist.
