Do you think that dreams or drug trips can benefit your conscious life?

Many people believe that dreams can be interpreted to help you understand a issue or situation that you are struggling with. Do you believe that understanding your dreams can help you in your conscious life? If so, do you believe that dreams have a super-natural presence, or is it just a manifestation of your mind? Many people view drug trips/meditation the same way, but of course trips are usually a lot more abstract, and are a lot less relateable to the physical world. Despite this many people claim that the geometric shapes/patterns ect. do in fact reveal truths about their physical lives. What's your opinion? as someone who has meditated with and without drugs, and lucid dreams(not by choice, in fact I hate lucid dreaming) I can't deny that there is definitely a connection, but how pure and truthful that connection is I'm unsure of.

 • Night dreams are nothing more but illusions hat the mind is playing to occupy time. Meditation and prayers are something that I believe helps when it comes to things like this. I know there are non religious people and what not but since I am, I do believe prayers help. I ask for advice, and sometimes I feel as if a greater being is helping me with whatever I struggle with. I personally believe that is the work of God. Now again some people might be laughing at me calling me crazy and whatever but I believe my own thing and you can believe yours. Mediation is something that clears the mind allowing it to relax. I eve leave this helps me with decision making, it helps me clear the mind so I can then think things through. Meditation also has a humongous amount of other benefits to it, and it has helped me a lot.

 • I havent "had a dream" in nearly three years.
For those of you who don't know scientific studies have proven that you always dream when you are asleep but when you "don't have a dream" you just don't remember what it was.
• First, I'd like to say your name fits very well with this topic. I can say that dreams do have a very relatable connection to both he conscious world and in many ways the state that one can achieve on a drug. During sleep your mind will replay a different scenario in many different, sometimes outlandish ways. One of the most common and my favorite theory is that our mind is actually playing through this scenarios to properly prepare us for the upcoming days/weeks. This theory was created by scientists who had mice run the same maze over and over, observing their brain patterns when they backtracked and such. They discovered that the brain waves were the same while subconscious, meaning they were, in a way, practicing the maze. In this same way, we as humans may inhibit the same methods. Which could explain why we sometimes dream about a movie or a video game; the subconscious mind may feel the connection with this fictitious idea, but not understand the line between reality and fantasy. This could also explain déjà Vu, as you have played this situations before, just not in a conscious state. It is very likely that, if you have a similar day to day schedule, you possibly dreamed of an outcome of the upcoming days which have extreme similarities with an actual, future day. And in this way we can discover things that are not technically open to us in the conscious state. Our basest, most ignored wants and fears and hopes are all hidden somewhere in the subconscious plain. It's just a matter of knowing how and where to look. So yes, it could be considered very relatable to at least tripping on shrooms. I hope this helped.

I have had some pretty trippy dreams that have came true, so I kind of believe it.

 • Well... I had two nightmares last night. One where a relatively large bee lived in a beehive right outside my house and one where Ohio State threw a game-losing interception... I'm not sure how to interpret these though.

 • Depends on the drug. Mushrooms are fantastic for bringing certain parts of your personality to your attention without the cloud of the ego. You can truly view yourself through unbiased eyes and see your deepest flaws. A lot of bad trips result from people discovering things about themselves that they weren't ready to learn. I'm smoking weed right now. Weed's pretty good for seeing through bullshit, but you're not going to learn any real personal truths from it.
