they are Bad
it's that simple. There is literally nothing we can do about it at the moment but I thought Killzone and Knack were going to be so much better than that...I thought Killzone was the Playstation's 'Halo-Killer'. Sadly, it did not live up to those expectations
It's disappointing really. As someone who's buying an Xbox, i feel very sorry to all those Sony fans having to deal with a poor lineup.
I hope you guys have better luck in 2014.
I thought Killzone was the Playstation's 'Halo-Killer'
Killzone's been trying to be a Halo-killer since its first iteration, and it's failed every time. It's never been anything more than an "ok" shooter, "good" at best. The only series that's been able to sink Halo, has been Halo itself. Or to leave the hyperbole behind, CoD and Battlefield are the only other major console shooters that have been able to hold a candle (or surpass) Halo in player population.

I find it funny that anyone expected Killzone to be any good. It was always and will be a mediocre game.
-
Killzone a halo killer!? It might be able to trade kills with halol 4 but that doesn't change the fact that it is a cheap scifi rip off dreamed up by some mental oriental over at Sony.
-
All launch titles are ass, remember the Xbox 360's launch lineup? or the PS3's? they all were mediocre, you never see the greatness until; you're a year or two into the console's life, because that's when the devs start to get a handle on the console's potential.

The problem with video game reviews now are we've all played these type of games and they have become old. If you got halo way back in the day before game review sites had gone all crazy and gotten huge! It was the greatest thing ever! EXCEPT for PC players who had been playing way better games for years and it was just a ok shooter. But to the new generation it was AMAZING!! Now the people who are reviewing games are the old generation who's saying eh we've all played this before its ok i guess. But to all the new young kids who haven't been playing this stuff all their life its going to be amazing. Killzone is the best in the series according to most reviews and killzone 2 is a 91 its just rated down because it still follows the same ideas. I am not yet burned out on simple shooters because i play every type of game and don't buy one after another.

Metacritic? Lol
-
My personal opinion is that reviewers are going to be more critical of games at the start of this generation and will be looking for a truly amazing game before handing out 9's and 10's and setting the new standard. This goes for all platforms and is just my opinion.
-
bungie obviously think it is the better console ... pushing their new title on that platform very hard. Plus even on the link you provided it has Killzone ahead of COD Ghosts, and COD did kill Halo on every release. So killing the halo killer ... you do the math.
-
hmmm from what I've seen the launch titles were all good and ok so no. Games were average and most consoles have had not so great launch lineups. So saying bad is inaccurate as most reviewers have given the games average scores but yet when you look at similar game scores there always seem to be an inconsistency. Also for XB1? I see no launch title that looks to be very promising except Dead Rising 3 and even then...only time will tell.
-
I'm just going to leave this here.
-
I can think of worst launch lineups..
-
I thought Killzone was the Playstation's 'Halo-Killer
PlayStation's Halo killer is Halo on the Xbox. Why make a game to kill Halo when Halo is killing itself?
-
People never understand that reviews don't matter... they are just someone's opinion that can be bought. Halo 4 got a 9.8/10 from IGN and a 10/10 from Machinima, ands so many of you guys hate the game.
-
Launch titles are always bad. Remember Perfect Dark Zero?
-
Reviews for Knack are bad. Seems that's the one to stay away from. Resogun is great (though I don't think this is the game you'd pick up a PS4 for). Killzone is alright. You're right that they're not great. inFamous: Second Son will be the first critical darling exclusive to PS4.

*gasp* Bad launch titles? Never.
-
Buh-buh-but... I think Knack is fun.

Edited by Gregory Marshall: 11/14/2013 2:06:20 PMPOSITIVE Battlefield 4 = 87% Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag = 82% Resogun = 82% (PS4 Exclusive) Call of Duty: Ghosts = 78% -------------------------------------------------- MIXED Killzone: Shadow Fall = 74% (PS4 Exclusive) Contrast = 67% Knack = 59% (PS4 Exclusive) Knack is the only real disappoint here. Honestly, as far as launches go, that doesn't look too shabby actually. Also, you have to remember that: FIFA 14, Flower, Sound Shapes, and NBA 2K14 are all coming to PS4 as well. Their reviews aren't under the PS4 banner on Metacritic yet but, that doesn't mean they don't exist, and based on this list from IGN, they're all looking to be good games as well.

That sucks... oh well. All will be well when my Neo-Geo system launches.
