What does everyone think of the next RoboCop?
Honestly, it looks pretty decent. It has the potential to write the wrongs the older ones made, they were watchable, but they were still pretty bad in a lot of ways, and this looks like it could be a remake to the series that sets the tone so that it doesn't need to be done again. And the sexy matte black finish to the armor is cool too.
Thoughts?

Samuel L. Jackson and Gary Oldman will be in it, so it'll at least be so bad it's good. No seriously though, it looks alright, but I doubt it'll be as good as it could be, knowing how remakes tend to go.

It looks like cliche shit. The original Robocop was a dark sci-fi classic that explored what it meant to be human. This is just about a guy who has cyber implants. Nothing changed about his personality.

I was a big fan of the original almost solely because of how dark the movie was at the time. The maniacal laughter from the bad guys as they ripped him limb from limb with bullets. The constant background chatter of "I'd buy that for a dollar!". All that's gone with the remake. Too Hollywood.

15 RepliesI feel the same way I do about the new Dredd. Just absolute crap. Seriously,the ED209s look plain pathetic. Not only that, the new black isn't even Robocop, it's flashy modern bullshit, stop -blam!-ing with my classic movies. Next thing you know, they'll be violating the Mad Max universe with crap entries, or butchering the old ones with shiny new remakes. It was bad enough they stuck their dicks in Total Recall, now I'm scared they'll stoop even lower. Is Battlefield Earth even safe? What about Water World? Your move, creeps.

I never saw the original movies just pictures and this one looks good so far,but then again its Robocop so maybe like some movies,it can't be saved or be any better. Wasn't Robocop popular because of the CG of its time? So this one may not go too well,but I'm still gunna pay to see it.
