I have another rooftop related question.
So lets say there is big building, with a rooftop you can walk onto (has stairs going to the rooftop). Now lets say there is a guy hurt and is laying down on the rooftop (thanks to all that answered my previous question) and he is looking up to someone who is in front of him.
Now this person is in a position where he can look down at the streets below. Now where is he standing? The edge of the rooftop? The side of the rooftop? How can I accurately describe his position (remember, from the perspective of the guy who is laying on the ground)? Please note I can't use something like 'above bob, joe stood overlooking the streets below' because 'joe' (the guy standing) is looking at 'bob' (the guy on the ground).

Joe stood on the edge of the rooftop, looking directly at Bob. The street below was in his field of vision, filled with people clambering about through the smoke like ants.
