Most of my family has little to no musical talent whatsoever. But my sister is trying to teach her daughter to play piano. They learn to play together. For most of the time they've been using regular old electric pianos, cheapo stuff. So, about a month or two ago, my sisters husband gets to talking with an old friend, and they start talking about pianos. As it turns out, his friend had someone pass away in the family and got a bunch of stuff in the will. One of these items was an actual piano. So, they talk some more and come to the conclusion that as much as they'd like to keep it, they have no room for it and wouldn't get any use out of it anyway, so they decide to give it to my sister and her husband. They got it re-tuned, paid the gas money for a trip from Saskatchewan to Calgary, Alberta. So they go off for about a week while I watch their place, and come back with a 120 year old piano in the back of their truck. The thing was heavy and made even more of a bother by the amount of space in my sisters house. But the day they got back, in the middle of the night, we moved it inside the house, me and my sisters husband. I am thankful it wasn't a grand piano, but that being said, it being one of those compact church pianos caused some problems too. Very top heavy. But you've got to admire the craftmanship that went into creating such a device. The intricacies of how everything is put together, and the love and care that was put into making it. And, funny enough, it sounds like one of those pianos you'd here in a saloon back in the days of the old west, which fits right along with my sister and her husband. This is my experience with pianos. I can't play them, but I can appreciate the people who built them, and the people who can play them.

This beats all else.
-
A piano(or any other musical instrument) is only as good as the person playing it.
-
Trumpet master race
-
A keyboard is so easy to play. I tried to play a violin once, and it was the hardest shit in the world.
-
I like Piano/Cello combinations
-
Oh Yeah, forgot about the West, Alkan does quite a lot of crazy shit (You'll all probably know him for his Feasten D'Aesop or however you spell that) - Other favorites are Sergei Rachmaninoff, Yann Tierson, Franz Liszt...and of course the two elder Germanic gods whom we all love...
-
Would you consider yourself a pianist enthusiast?
-
Other notable piano channels being Quellatalo Nin(transcriptions only), Ishter(transcribes and plays whatever), Animenzz(transcribes and plays whatever), and kkcwkoh (uploads shit from the moon)

I'm on my phone so I won't be able to properly link it, but if you go to YouTube and search for Lara6683 she does Piano and Violin covers of MANY old games and television shows. Easy on the eyes as well. Her cover of Time's Scar is breathtaking.

Edited by cvbe K: 11/8/2013 5:50:00 AMCohen's Masterpiece is a -blam!-ing incredible piece and describes Bioshock's Sander Cohen perfectly. It's so unsettling but absolutely beautiful and masterfully crafted. It's the perfect look into Cohen's madness.
