Got invited to a hands-on experience with an Xbox One and my choice of either Dead Rising 3 or Ryse, and having played previous Dead Rising games I had an idea what to expect. So I went for Ryse.
I love the controller and the game was good fun for the few minutes I got to play.
And I won a hat.

Some critics have commented that Ryse is about as fun as dialling phone numbers. One said he could play an entire sequence without even using his left hand to move the character. The developer has countered by saying that Ryse is about establishing "flow", with perfectly timed attacks allowing you to dispatch enemies gracefully. Furthermore, the variety of executions will make players want to replay levels just to get the perfect killchain and make use of the environment for awesome executions. You didn't get to play for very long, but where do you stand in relation to these comments? Is Ryse a boring dialer game, or does it have a deeper combat system?
