Godzilla vs 50 War of the Worlds Tripods
The War of the Worlds Tripods are known to be massive machines that destroy everything in their path with ease. They are armed with powerful death-rays that disintegrate virtually anything. They are also protected by heavy energy shields that seem to block just about everything that attempts to attack them.
Setting of the battle: The 50 Tripods are attacking Tokyo. The military is annihilated and dying faster than Halo 4's population. There is hope however, as [url=http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/1/18/Final_Wars_Godzilla.jpg]Godzilla[/url] rises from the ocean and heads towards Tokyo to take on the Tripods. The Tripods notice Godzilla on the horizon, and begin to advance towards him.
They engage in glorious battle. Who comes out victorious?

Godzilla took a black hole to the face. Tripods took a Citizen Kane to the knee. Godzilla wins Rosebud.

I'd have to go with Godzilla, Gojira himself has given information several different times that explains that Godzilla has different forms, can become more powerful, and a lot more that I'm probably forgetting. The Tri-Pods may be powerful and more numerous, but I'm sure Godzilla can take them on. Maybe not all at once, but certainly give a decent fight if not win IMO.

The tripod's have nearly impervious shields, I don't think Godzilla could even hurt them.

If Godzilla was like the category 5 kaiju from pacific rim he would totally win.

As much as I love War of the Worlds, Godzilla has this. The tripods were, according to the original book, actually quite fragile. A few of them were taken down by artillery fire.

If this is going off the book where WWI tech was dropping a few of these, Godzilla shouldn't have any trouble.
