That is providing you've received the email message titled "How about a free game as a thank you?" from Microsoft. Update - It seems that eligibility for a Killer Instinct code takes into account your Xbox Live Gamerscore and tenure, as the official Xbox Twitter notes: "We considered a variety of factors including Gamerscore and XBL tenure. We’re rewarding some of our biggest fans around the world," it says.

I swear Microsoft didn't think this through. One of my friends got an email and said he doesn't even like fighting games, but he said he would give me the code if you can. My other friend got one, but where he lives there not even releasing the Xbox One.

I have not gotten an e-mail. I have had Xbox Live for seven years, have 29,000 Gamerscore, but never play fighting games. Maybe looking at the games you play went into their "XBL tenure" thingy.
