The first console I ever played a game for a solid amount of time on was the PS1 with Abe's Oddysee, an incredibly hard and violent game for a small child to play (it scared me shitless) but so captivating that I couldn't not play it.
What were your experiences? Did you play video games from an early age or did you get into it later on in life?

First game was Hot Wheels Turbo Racing on my 64 and the best feeling I had was unlocking every Mystery Car in that mothereffing game along with writing down the password to unlock them later.... Oh yeah... And how can I forget Lego Racers, beating the crap out of Rocket Racer and his OP teleportation trick!

I think Pokemon Red for Gameboy Advance.

My uncle sold his house and was moving to Spain so he was getting rid of some of his stuff. One of those things was Gameboy with Tetris. He gave it to me, and told me to look after it. I was super exited and played it straight away. game over in ~3 minutes. He then took the Gameboy off me and played it for 3 hours (until the batteries ran out) and then gave it back to me. Whist he was playing he didn't say a word to anyone in the family. that was the last time most of us saw him.
Abe's Oddysee
God that game was so amazing. I need to play it again. My first was Star Fox on the SNES I believe. It was released in 93, so I would have been 3 when I played it. The fact that I was ever able to beat the first level at that age is incredible to me. But as far as I remember, I never made it past the second level. Those damn asteroids killed me every time.

Super Mario 64 Banjo Kazooie This N64 Scooby Doo game This Spawn game on the PS1 (it was so bad but so good) This monster truck game also on PS1 Crash Bandicoot (wrath of Cortex I believe) Spyro (forgot which ones. Ryptos rage was one)

Mortal Kombat 3 on the sega genesis when I was 5 or 6. As the youngest I had to use the crappy three button controller that was too big for my tiny hands :(

Edited by MastaSin: 11/6/2013 7:05:09 AMMy first console was an Atari 2600 and my first game was Asteroids. The next year Nintendo came out.

First console I ever played on was my dad's old Atari 2600 when I was like 5. I don't remember what we actually played first, but he had like, 30 games for it and we went through all of them. He was going to sell it, and we had to make sure everything still worked. First console I ever owned was the original Xbox (which I can't refer to as "Xbox 1" anymore, thanks MS), but before then I would go to friends' houses for some Turok, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, or Twisted Metal action. That all changed when I got my hands on Halo.

An old godzilla game is probably the first thing I ever played. It was for the first game boy and I was so jelly my cousin had it :(
-
PC with this glorious game right here. Seriously I would play this constantly as a kid and make gigantic cities [though I have to admit it hasn't aged very well, I suck at it now :(]
-
For me, it was either DK64, Timesplitters 2 for GC, or OoT for N64. My memory is a little foggy.

Edited by Xmark120: 11/5/2013 7:54:46 PMMy first video game was Commander Keen 4. I played it on a PC when I was around 6 years old, back in the 90's.

I grew up poor as dick. Until I was 7, all I had was an NES and 2 games (SMB and SMB3). Couldn't even play those very often on account of running up the power bill. It's amazing how much I take for granted these days compared to what I had just 14 years ago.

The first console I played on was the PS1, and I think Tekken 3. It was over 12 years ago, so I probably am wrong.

First ever game. Pokemon red. First console game. GTA 3
