Have you ever played World of Warcraft? If so, when did you join, how long did you play, and why did you leave (if you left)? What class/race/faction did you play? Feel free to share any details.
I joined during early TBC. Started originally with Alliance with a generic human warrior. Ended up making a Night Elf Hunter, but only made it to level 14 or so before I quit (i did not like Darkshore). After meddling with a Tauren Druid, I eventually made a Blood Elf Hunter. This character is still my main, years later. Also have a wide variety of other classes, with 7 characters at or above 85, one at 80, and the rest around level 60-70. Some of those include Alliance characters, too.
I raided during TBC, and got to early Black Temple (up to Teron) before our guild fell apart, as our officers left to join the top guild on the Server so they could kill KJ/Illidan before WoTLK. Cleared Naxx and ToC in Wrath, but other then that I did not do much raiding. Cata I only did a few bosses (save LFR), and now in MoP I raid through LFR almost entirely.
I haven't kept my subscription going constantly, I've taken breaks every now and then. The only reason I keep going back is because I enjoy the lore. The Warcraft universe is awesome.

I've played WoW since Vanilla and cleared all content up through WotLK. Never bought Cataclysm, though. 6 years was enough for me. I completely agree with the lore aspect. It's the best part of that game. It gives the grind a greater purpose and more meaning and explains the"why are we doing this question ". Which Destiny leaves completely out. Judging from the replies to this post, it's easier to understand the players who think Destiny is awesome. They've never seen content like WoW. Coming from a game like CoD, Destiny is awesome, but coming from WoW, it's disappointing. Especially since Bungie made statements like " we want Destiny to be the next Star Wars or LotR". You can't do that without a huge story.

I played it, for 20 minutes.
-
I played the trial.
-
Ha, nope. This entire post was gibberish to me.
-
I played it for a month years ago. Then discovered EVE Online. Never touched wow since.
-
Nope.
-
Played it for a few weeks, never really got into it.
-
I played it about six years ago at a friend's place for an hour or so. Didn't really interest me.
-
I have something like 2000 hours in it...
-
Nope.

I started during Vanilla, got my Night Elf Hunter to 60 about two weeks after TBC came out. Decided to buy the expansion, but only ever got my guy to level 65. Quit, came back three or so weeks before Cataclysm. Got a Death Knight up, by the time I reached level 78 Cata came out so I bought it, got an 85, quit about 3 weeks after the Firelands came out because I got bored doing the same five daily quests for three weeks every day.

I started playing in Cataclysm, so yeah, relatively new. Level 90 BE Frost DK. What constantly astounds me is how much lore is in the game and how much lore these people on RP servers know. First raid I ever did was the LK encounter (I think it's called Icecrown Citadel?) which was super fun. Did it with a RP Tauren group and I was the lone BE DK. It was pretty cool. I'm currently working on a Disc/Shadow priest, with the occasional hardmode dungeon on my DK.

I started playing the trial back in the early Lich King days, but sometime in early cata I could actually afford the monthly fees so I got myself a real account. Been playing ever since, Level 90 Orc Elemental Shaman is my main. Names Vicousmoron (yeah I know vicious is spelled wrong, my bro made the character way back in the day when he was a tauren) and I play on Silvermoon with the others at my school that play. It was total coincidence that everyone was on the same server c:

Yeah, started back in Wrath. Still play. My main is a human warrior (used to be Tauren), I also have a belf pally, Horde panda monk, and I had a belf DK but I deleted her. May restore it.
-
I boycott any game that requires a monthly fee, so no.
-
For about three seconds. Literally.

I started playing mid-Burning Crusade as a mage, and by the time Wrath rolled around I was playing a dual-specced frost and unholy death knight. I just got bored of endgame content towards the end of Cataclysm, and had the best gear I could get my hands on for the amount of time I was willing to invest in the game. I stopped playing about a year ago.
