Customers complained after the man, wearing what appeared to be a black SS uniform with cap and red armband, visited an Asda in Cambridge.
Police were called, but he left of his own accord when confronted by the manager of the Beehive Centre store.
A man claiming to be the shopper said on Twitter he was handing out business cards and regularly visited the store.
A spokeswoman for Asda said: "We had a number of customer complaints so we asked him to leave the store."
I honestly don't see the big deal, it's a uniform/costume. I don't care what it was about in the past, it's long gone and should not be considered offensive.
Some guy walking around dressed as a -godwinslaw!-, im offended......bloody hell.

Lanepaul logic >Im offended by america >Im offended by muslims >Im offended by guns >Im not offended by nazis

Good, as snazzy as those uniforms are you can't just walk around in them and pretend it's freedom of speech/expression. It is one of the few things that genuinely are offensive, not to me but to the people who's families and friends died in the concentration camps and in the war itself. It's nearly poppy week for christs sake why would you just walk about like an SS officer?

I'm actually convinced that you're a -godwinslaw!-.

Police were called, for what? His clothes? This is pathetic

If he ditched the armband it probably wouldn't have been so bad

Edited by Eucalyptus: 11/1/2013 2:09:21 PMJust because you don't find it offensive doesn't mean others won't. Not wearing a -godwinslaw!- uniform is just another social convention.
Like clothes.
I'd have preferred this better than that.

It's a little rude, and plus for a grown man its not very funny either.
