How do you distinguish between that revealed to prophets and that revealed to schizophrenics?

Who cares about distinguishing if both have revelation?
-
I think you know what I mean.

;) I don't know how you would. But I don't need to know because I don't believe that God currently reveals knowledge to prophets like he has done in the past.

Edited by Seggi: 10/29/2013 12:26:39 PMBut how do you judge the veracity of the supposed revelations of the past? And, by the way, what took you so long? I've been waiting three months for you to finally post in here.

The way I go about judging the Old Testament prophets is by seeing what Jesus thought of them (seeing as how Jesus is God and all...). I think Jesus didn't have a problem with the OT (he used it regularly, he alluded to it, the Jews at the time accepted it but Jesus didn't speak up about it being wrong - whereas he constantly spoke up about other beliefs the Jews were wrong about), so I don't have a problem with the OT. I think the new layout stopped me from posting. I couldn't be bothered to get used to it.

Edited by Seggi: 10/30/2013 5:41:57 AMBut then how do you judge the claim of Jesus to be God? Presumably there's an element of empirical judgement somewhere along the line.
-
This is pretty off topic now - but I use historical evidence to judge that claim (eg. Gospel biographies of Jesus + resurrection etc).
-
Right, so you judge it empirically.
-
If you want to call it that, yeah.
-
are you admitting it's bullshit either way
