Halo 3 had an ambiance like no other halo game, almost golden.
I'm not sure whether its tinted nostalgia or not, but the lighting of the sky and African sun, the solid forerunner frames, the shiny yet simple armour texture and the gently choir based background music really sucked me into the game.
It's something that isn't present in Halo reach, but was almost achieved in Halo 4. If they used more alien, tech music, and made the forerunner tech and spartan armour less matte ans plasticy, it would have helped make a really good ambience. Thoughts?

I never liked the ultra grey realism of some of the early military environments in the campaign, but it got pretty later on.
