Obamacare and Healthcare.gov
If the government can't get a -blam!-ing website to function properly, then how do we expect it to run a national healthcare system (or rather a bastardization thereof)?

Obamacare is a shit attempt towards a single-payer healthcare plan. But Republicans would never pass a single-payer plan, even though it would benefit everyone in the country.

15 RepliesThe budget to create the website was 80 mill in jan, they tripled it to 240 mill in the summer, and just recently doubled that to 500 mill. 500mill of hard earned tax dollars down the drain to create a failed website :P

Yep, the politicians that supported obamacare are the programmers that made the faulty website. Politicians aren't smart enough for that!

3 RepliesYou don't even know why it wasn't functioning properly in some states do you? There was a very good discussion on this on Bloomberg this morning. Basically many of the red states were fighting this thing until the very end, so instead of setting up their own exchanges (like many of the blue states did) they all had to defer to a federal one at the last minute. So with millions of people all trying to access it at the same time things were bound to get screwy. I'd think that as a gamer you'd see this coming, especially since the private industry even has trouble preparing for just a few hundred thousand people to be slamming their servers all at once.

Website cost $600 million dollars. Insurance companies told administration to delay the opening and test more. Obama knew that would look bad and decided to gamble. Obama lost.
