How should I write actions done to my protaganist?
Such as when my character is beaten
Should I write it this way...
A. Daniel was beaten by the prison warden.
Or should I write it this way
B. The warden beat Daniel.
Daniel is my protaganist. I want to write my entire story from his perspective. I'm wondering if this small thing makes a difference.
Does it?

A good story writes the way the main character thinks. So for example, if your character was intellectual you would use more sophisticated words and sentence structures in and out of personal text. If he was under privileged and uneducated, you would use the respective structure and words. This is done many time is some of the most popular and well know books of history. Just do what you think is right for you.

B. Pretension is never a good thing in writing, and unnecessary words add to that effect.
-
B. A is too formal, it would be better suited to a biography or news article. I'm assuming you're writing a novel, so you want to keep the prose light and informal so the reader doesn't feel detached.

I'd describe it more such as
The Warden walked over to Daniel. As he raised his baton, he grinned slightly before bringing it down on the helpless man.
That would be what I write.

Depends on what sounds better in the context and with the surrounding sentences.

Complete the sequence with one of the two ways you want to write it and then read it. If it doesn't seem to fit right for you, change it and try the other.
