Ok, so, when the Xbox 1 comes out they are supposedly going to cut the Xbox 360 servers sometime soon afterwards. I found this out AFTER I had already pre-ordered the game for the Xbox 360. Am i the only one freaking out here? Now I really dont want to get the Xbox 1 on account of it being so expensive but i really dont know what to do...got any advice or thoughts on the subject guys?

Edited by Dorwrath: 10/22/2013 9:42:23 AMYou heard wrong. Whoever told you that gave you the wrong information. Xbox 360 will be supported for another 3 years, so 2016/17 till that happens. Get an Xbox One. If you can't afford it, wait. They said they'll cut some of the servers so after, that still gives you some time on the 360. Wait until you can afford it or when they cut the price then buy it. If you're impatient then just buy a PS4; however that should be your LAST resort.

What idiot told you that?
-
What moron told you that?
-
I heard they weren't cutting 360 servers because no one was buying the Xbox one.
-
Wut? That would be business suicide. Microsoft is stupid but not that stupid.
-
2-3 years of support, just don't expect any games after summer 2014.
-
It is not expensive. In 1984 the commodore 64 was tagged at $599. Xbox 1 is a deal.

Last time I heard...The sky was falling..Better run

The servers are going down years after the Xbox One is released.

U can upgrade to xbox one version for 5 bucks plus this is false so don't worry

Seriously doubt that since they are realeasin a new 360 design along side the 1

You could go ps4 100 dollars cheaper

Last post I read said that Microsoft planned to keep the Xbox 360 servers going at least 3 more years until 2016. That post was a couple months ago. With all the discussion about transition to the new platform(s), I would not be surprised if they extended the 360s life beyond that time. Don't worry about it. Enjoy the game. Things change over time. That's life. Game on!

Microsoft has confirmed support for the Xbox 360 until 2018.
-
I think it's going to shut down in 3 years.
-
There will be 100 more games coming up for the 360 before they stop marketing games for the console but they wont shut down 360 completely only the game disk for the 360 are the ones going, anyway its far more better to wait out till 2016 cuz there might be problems on its release. Besides during those years they might make xbox 1 backwards compatable, just a guess. Dont freak out, you got 2 more years to decide and heres a cool tip, gamestop will be replacing 360 games that you own that has a xbox one counterpart for $10.00 if you have a membership. I will just wait out seriously, because as an experienced gamer, first releases of consoles always have problems. So sit out and just wait. The world is not gonna end so dont worry.

Microsoft (and Sony for that matter) may say that they are supporting the current gen systems for multiple years after the next gen is released but let's think practical here. Does "supporting" mean keeping all the servers open or making developers make games for it. Good games not just some code on a disk. I doubt that. And honestly I don't want to see a lot of current gen ports of the next gen games. I really feel like bungie could have made Destiny even greater if it would have only been a next gen title. I don't want my next gen games being handicapped because they have to make current(old) gen versions. I think both companies will still produce content for the current gen systems but their main focus will undoubtedly be on next gen. That being said I'm sure Destiny will still be an awesome game on xbox 360 so you shouldn't have anything to worry about. But if you want a next gen system with less of a next gen price then go with the ps4

Yes you are the only one freaking out. I suggest you read press released from Microsofts Xbox team and check Major Nelsons blog for information. There has been no official and I can say also internal info confirming any of the sort. So this is simply a internet rumor, probably started by someone who dislikes Microsoft for some reason and wants to start a uproar amongst their consumers.
