Just like the good ol' days.
-The Assault Rifle is still a piss-poor starting weapon.
-The BR is still the only decent non-power weapon.
-The Shotgun is still a lottery cannon.
-The maps are still sub-par compared to Halo 1 and 2.
-The FOV is still extremely low, and is still motion-sickness inducing.
-Equipment is still BS, especially the Bubble Shield, Power Drain, and Regenerator.
---------
-6 AR rounds + Melee is still ridiculously powerful.
-Melees are still OP and undodgeable. Halo 2 had a far greater lunge range, but at least you could dodge melees. Plus, melee damage was momentum based in Halo 1 and 2; not sure why that aspect was removed starting with 3.
-Guardian is still a poor man's Lockout and it still has terrible map flow. And it's considered one of Halo 3's "better" maps. It's damn near unplayable with AR starts.
I'll update this list as I play more. But it's bringing back a lot of memories so far...
...bad ones.

I understand you're supposed to find map weapons, but there's no reason why you couldn't have something you can use to defend yourself with against a guy with the BR. They somewhat fixed it in Reach with the pistol, but the AR is still shit. I'm glad 343 went back to having weapons that are useful.
-The BR is still the only decent non-power weapon.
So true. The AR is shit. The Plasma rifle is only good if you have a pistol. The SMG is shit and the pistol is shit. I know the last 2 you're supposed to duel wield, but even then the damage you are doing is shit.
-Equipment is still BS, especially the Bubble Shield, Power Drain, and Regenerator.
I agree with the shield. I know it's a onetime use thing, but there was no real way to counter it. You either had to wait for it to drop or go inside it and destroy the generator.
