Say you're going out with a girl you just met for the first time, or a guy if you swing that way really the gender doesn't matter much, but you had just met recently. You're taking them to a 3-star restaurant, so not too expensive or pricey. But you use a coupon to make the bill a little cheaper, or something else that lowers the cost of the meal.
Do you think it's bad to use a coupon on a first date with someone?
I say it isn't, if it's a first date, nothing's set in stone yet. You could be spending upwards of hundreds of dollars to go on one date that doesn't plan out. For first dates, I think it's perfectly okay to get it as discounted as possible. Later on though, if it starts to turn into something serious, that's when you don't use them.

Using a coupon on the first date is tacky, and it can sabotage your attempt to put the best foot forward. People generally use coupons as they become more familiar with each other, not when they're less familiar. And you shouldn't be spending hundreds of dollars at a three-star restaurant.
