Just watched a video from IGN about everything they know about Destiny and the way they talked it made it sound like the classes had class-specific gear and you were forced into looking like your class, so bounty hunters have the hoods/cloaks, Titans all look like they are wearing space armor (like Spartans), Warlocks look like they are wearing trenchcoats, etc.
Please tell me this isn't true, that your character can look how you want regardless of class, I really like the hood/cloak look ever since seeing the first trailer and don't want to be forced into playing a bounty hunter when I really want to play a warlock just to be able to look how I want.

Personalized loot streams, my man. This means that, if you spend 30 minutes soloing a Boss, no punkass will be swooping in to steal your loot. It also means that, if you play a Titan, you will get Titan armor. Now for weapons, on the other hand, the field is WIDE open across all classes.

Armor is absolutely class specific. It's super important in class based games to create a unique silohette for each class so that you can tell who is what in the heat of combat. Sorry, if you want to have a hood, you're going to have to go Hunter.
-
Like many have already said, the armor will be locked to each class, for various reasons. I think its important to keep in mind that pieces may fall under general themes; these themes would be available for all classes. For example a "Moon bone Hunter set" may be available, while a stylistically similar "Moon bone Warlock set" is available as well. So specfic pieces available across classes, no. Pieces which are similar across classes, yes.

Clothes are class specific
-
It think certain things are class specificlike capes but I think every thing else will mold into your class body type
-
You are able to wear anything from other classes
-
I think there will be variations of the same armor. I believe they once said, "Titans will be 80% armor, 20% cloth, Hunters will be 50/50, and Warlocks will be 80% cloth, and 20% armor". But I could be wrong on the variations. It just makes sense to me.
-
It's true, from what we've been told. Titans are supposed to be all armor, Warlocks almost all cloth, and the Hunters somewhere in the middle.
-
Each class has a particular armor/cloth ratio Titan: 80/20 Hunter: 50/50 Warlock: 20/80 This is why warlocks have trench coats, hunters have hooded capes, and titans have the Spartan look.

Good idea.I think warlock looks fine as it is,a classy space wizard. But Titan needs some makeup done or something. At least allow us to wear paint on our helmet.Like,a skull or something. A small cape at the waist or neck would add fashion maybe? And like the concept art,the idea of fuzz around the neck is a great idea.
-
its true, they need a way to designate the classes and I've hood like warlock helmets so maybe you could use those
-
Gotta differentiate classes somehow since we can all use all guns. Gotta have some way to prep the moment before a pvp encounter
-
They said that they made each race have a very specific type of armor so they could be easily identified. So yes, you'll be bound to a certain "aesthetic" for your class, but you'll have plenty of room to customize within that aesthetic.

Edited by FairlySplendid: 10/18/2013 9:50:32 PMRegardless of what anyone else claims, the genuine and sincere answer is each class has a specific aesthetic that can not be interchanged.

Im with you, man. I'd like to wear a hood as a Titan.
