OK, so recently I've been seeing a lot of religion posts. While there is nothing wrong with talking about religion in a proper manner, it is threads like this http://www.bungie.net/en-US/View/community/Forum/Post?id=44232669 that really bug me.
If this was titled something like 'Do we still need religion in the modern world' or 'What place should religion have in our modern society' then that would be fine. Instead we have ignorant people (and I call them this based on what they have said, not just as an insult) saying that religion has no place in the world. While this might be true for them it is not true for everyone.
For many people religion and science can co exist. Obviously there are the many examples of the greatest minds in scientific history who were religious, but also for many people religion tells people how to live (morality etc.) whereas science explains how they live and how the world works. To use Christianity as an example: not everyone reads the Bible literally.
I personally am not religious, in fact, next year I'm going to study physics at university. However, I often get more annoyed with the many more (in my experience) atheists than religious people who try to force their views onto others. What annoys me in particular about many of these people is the hypocrisy that often arises in their arguments. By this I mean when an atheist will accuse a religious person of blindly following religion with no evidence when often they are blindly following science with no understanding of the evidence put forward in support. How can you argue for something you don't understand?
Essentially, what I'm getting at is why does everyone need to force their views on other people. Can't we just let them get on with their lives!

Never. It's human nature.
