Okay, so how much do you guys care about character customization. I'm not talking base stats but pure aesthetics. If Destiny ends up not having much in the way of flashy player bling such as armor, helmets, like capes, and such will you be disappointed? If I can't make my guy look a little bit like MC, I might be a little disappoint.

it was the first thing that attracted me to the game in the first place, its the main part im looking forward to if im honest, im more interested in rare armour parts than unique weapons. I want my warlock to look stunning and stand from the crowd, im very interested in exploring and would like my character to instantly say "ive done it all but thers room for more"

We want to give players the opportunity to tailor their weapons and gear to their style of play, and provide them with storytelling channels that speak volumes about what kind of persona they want to put out there to other players in the world. So, when someone finally walks out of a Raid alive and drops into competitive multiplayer with their spoils, other savvy players will instantly recognize the accomplishment."
MMORPG Interview with Eric Osbourne: http://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post?id=61933827&path=1

Toon customization should be pretty intense, with lots of options. Hopefully it'll be pretty sweet.

Edited by Nitron F117: 10/15/2013 5:20:15 PMI don't find aestetic customization all that important. I've never been compelled to unlock each and every piece of armor in the Halos. I've never dyed a piece of clothing in Fable. I'll take function over form any day. That being said, there were definitely helmets in Halo that I liked more than others, and I did wear ones I liked. There's really no downside from the player's perspective to having additional cosmetic items.

I would be pretty disappoint, son. It sounds shallow, but aesthetic customization is a big deal for me. If I'm going to be playing this thing forever, I'd really want to feel like every piece of armor/clothing has been handcrafted.

I would be a bit sad
