Physical Stats in Destiny?

How do you think Bungie will represent physical stats in Destiny? We all know that the game will incorporate the best of RPG's, Shooters, and MMO's into one game, but my big question is how will Physical Stats and how they're presented in the game affect what your Guardian can/cannot do? I know Bungie has stated multiple times that they want to keep it as simple as possible, so you can just create your Guardian and start playing, but there must be some way they're represented and/or affect on the overall game. Do you think it will be represented similarly to Morrowind/Oblivion/Skyrim? More like the Witcher or the depth of Neverwinter Nights? Similar to Fallout? From proficiency with various types of weapons, to the efficacy of "Space Magick", how do you think the physical stats will be represented and how much will they affect the overall outcome/build of your Guardian? Discuss.

  • I can imagine proficiency with certain types of weapons being a thing. I'd imagine that it'd work like the Bethesda games, where you can train/allocate points into specific weapon specializations; for example, simultaneously training in pistols/revolvers/small guns in general and rifles. Training/allocating space magic could yield a more efficient effect, such as a high blast radius or superior healing. Other than I suppose training your general stamina, health, and space magic points outside simply leveling up seems viable. A stretch, but a traits/skill tree would really add to the RPG element of the game.

    • From the very first Vidoc that we saw, we saw that one on one of the shots of the Apps four stats for Guardians: Energy, Shields, Discipline, and Agillity. Obviously things could have changed from way back when, but it gives a snapshot into their vision for how things would have unfolded back then.
