People who are getting next-gen consoles for "graphics" are retarded.
Please tell me how you love "revolutionized" 60 frames per second
@ 1080p when it's been done on PC's for the last decade or so.
Please tell me how you are completely oblivious to the fact that most 360 & PS3 games are running @ 720p max with less than 30 FPS.
Please tell me how you didn't know that old-gen console ports like ACIV, Titanfall, watch dogs etc. aren't optimized for those "next-gen" consoles and probably won't be @ 1080p nor 60 FPS.
Please tell me how 1080p and 60 frames per second is still relevant with the rise of 4k coming in the next 5-7 years.
Listen here, you aren't getting a new console for graphics, you are getting it for games and because of your friends.
If you wanted graphics, take those 500$'s and go with the master race.
This isn't a "PC is am being teh bestest", but don't talk about crap you don't know without doing any research.

Please tell me how $500 could get you a gaming PC capable of lasting a decade, outputting 4k, or running most new games better than a console, where it's optimized to run on that hardware. Both the X1 and PS4 have built in support for 4k output. I'm getting a next gen console because I don't want to spend a ton of money for a powerful gaming rig, and I don't want to have to spend even more money to swap out all those parts over the next ten years. I'm getting a next gen console so I don't have to worry about whether or not my GPU will run a game reliably. I'm not a computer illiterate person, I'm a hardware technician. I game on console because it's far cheaper, it's easier, and it lasts longer. The next gen consoles are a large jump up from the current 7-8 year old hardware in the PS3 and 360. I look at games like The Last of US, and I'm amazed that something like that can run on 7 year old hardware with just half a gig of RAM. The launch titles for these new systems look even better than that, and I can't wait to see what developers are able to push out after 9 years of developing on the X1 or PS4. I also know for a fact that your gaming rig won't be able to run anything very well in another 9 years, unless you put $100s more into it for upgrades.

Actually $500 might be just the graphics card if people want to go all in... But that aside no one at this point in time should be getting consoles for graphics, that should almost be common knowledge

It just seems like you made this post to bash and get people upset. I have an idea, next time you wake up on the wrong side of the bed you should consider a shower rather than coming on the internet to bash for no reason. Instead of telling the masses about how they are idiots why don't you find the one random guy that may post about next gen graphics and bash him specifically. You're just being an absolute dolt.

I believe that when one says they are getting next gen for "graphics" it's because with the power of the cloud and the ability to possibly offload textures consoles might finally stand alongside PC. But it is worth noting that at this current point in time this is all theoretical.

When people buy a console, they already have a basic set of needs that only consoles can cover. If "extra" things like better graphics trumped those needs, those people would just buy PC's. So when people say they want next-gen consoles for the graphics, they're saying two things: they want a console, and they want a specific console because it provides better graphics than other consoles.
