I love the game don't get me wrong but playing it for 10 years I don't think if they plan to bring out a new destiny every 3 years with having massive dlc in the middle of each game title would that keep us playing?
-
They said that one year after destiny, they will release a massive dlc, one year after the dlc an exp pack, then another massive dlc and so on for 10 years. Its great

I can see Skyrim lasting for ten years if Bethesda would release Modded Community content or official DLC for consoles. If Destiny has a ton of RPG elements and massive amounts of customization that transcend the normal FPS formula then sure. As long as players can make adjustments on their characters or personal belongings over the course of Destiny while facing new challenges they'll play religiously.
-
There is going to be a DLC released a year after the game then, a year after that another Destiny game and then a DLC and so on for 10 years. That is what it says in the contract between Activsion and Bungie a while back.
I love the game don't get me wrong
You can't possibly know that yet.
but playing it for 10 years I don't think if they plan to bring out a new destiny every 3 years with having massive dlc in the middle of each game title would that keep us playing?
Did I miss something? When did it go from every 2 years to every 3?
-
No. It will die off like Warcraft but quicker..
-
i have faith in destiny
-
I'm certain it will. Given that there are franchises currently that have attracted large audiences for years, I feel that Destiny will have no problem lasting ten years.
-
I want to be playing this when I'm 80.
-
I could have played Halo2 for ten years. Yes they can keep us playing for 10 years.
-
They make it sound like the game is constantly changing so if that's true then yes that is possible.
-
No, Call of Duty will anally wreck it in the year and Bungie will shut down.
-
Journey stars soon all I know is I'm gonna get in my space ship and kick some serious ass however long I can stay interested (most likely 10 years)
-
Mass effect lasted what 6,7 years and there is another title coming, plus people still play ME3 multiplayer, 10 years really isn't that difficult to achieve.
-
No clue, will be fun finding out though.
-
It has the potential. Look at UT. It's online is still going strong, as well as Quake 2 and Quake 3 Team Arena.
-
If it deserves to.
