With recent trends for making a lot of games available through Digital Download or purchase, do you as a gamer still buy Physical copies for the cases and bonuses that sometimes come with them, or have you gone the way of the future?
Personally, I still prefer Physical copies myself. The decision to get Pokemon X digitally has been weighing heavily on my mind surprisingly because I've always gotten things physically, with the cases, manuals, cartridges or discs, and so on. But since companies have been skimping on a lot of those traits, getting physical copies feels less and less compelling sort of. We're still paying the same price to get the game, but we don't get a manual, and sometimes all we get is the game and the case.
It's hard for me to find the exact words to describe this right now, but hopefully someone else understands my intentions and what I'm trying to explain. Main point though, there aren't any bonuses for Pokemon X besides a Poster it seems, so using my 30$ E-Shop credit from getting Fire Emblem and Shin Megami Tensei is what I'm going to do.
I'm missing out on the case and physical copy, but ehh? Can't say much more there, what about you guys? Hopefully I didn't ramble too much.

Digital! I can't wait for next gen -- day 1 digital downloads is going to be AMAZING!
-
Physical, because I have a data cap ;~;
-
Physical. I was one of those dumb idiots that bought into the Zune... biggest mistake. I don't give a shit about space, I want to own the items I spend my money on. When a company stops support of a digital product...the consumer gets screwed.
-
Physical with a digital backup.
-
I prefer having a physical copy of a game, but digital games are supposed to load faster... so that would be nice too :)
-
Digital, cause Steam
-
I usually get physical, only because I don't have a lot of hard drive space. But I like digital over physical.

Used to like physical games but the more I bought the more I saw myself as having clutter in my space. And realistically, what am I gaining from having a physical copy? Having it on my shelf. Having to put that game's disc in when I want to play it, or when my console asks for it. It used to be nice having physical but as of late, and the lack of manuals being included in cases, whats the point anymore. It sounds lazy to not want to put in the disc but honestly, having digital games is far more convenient because in the end, all you want to do is play the game.

Physical. Mainly because I have poopy internet.
-
When given the option, I prefer digital over physical.
-
I was thinking about going all digital but I like having my stack of game cases it's one of the highlights of my room.
-
For PC games 100% digital. The last disc I bought was AoE3 on release. Console games? I purchase physical just because its usually cheaper (at least on Xbox) and my friends and I are always trading games around so it gives me the opportunity to share it.
-
50/50 PC games are digital. Console games are physical.
-
Either digital or physical works for me. Not picky
-
I like a physical copy that I can download. It's convenient to have it digital, but with the option to fall back to a physical copy should something happen to the computer it's downloaded too.
-
Most of the games I have bought recently have been through steam, so digital.
-
It depends on the platform, really. If I'm buying the game for PC, I'll usually buy the digital copy. If I'm buying the game for a console, I always buy a physical copy.
-
I still go physical when I can, but I've started to move a bit into the digital with Animal Crossing: New Leaf and Super Mario 3D Land. I also downloaded Dead Rising 2 when it was free.
-
Usually digital. Steam converted me to that method and its too convenient. Just makes everything simple.
-
I get digital, I have fast internet and can download a 20gb game in 90mins.
-
Majority of the games I buy are Physical. The only game that I play consistently that I bought digitally is minecraft.
-
I prefer digital. So much easier.

Edited by Alphy : 10/3/2013 6:27:30 AMI like physical better, simply because I like to have the box/game as proof that I actually bought it...
I actually was going to get the first downloadable 3DS game, which I think was New Super Mario Bros. 2, but I still stuck with physical. I'll be getting my Y as physical, as well.
