Bungie, we need to talk. Cop a squat because I'm going to, as the kids say, spit some knowledge at you, dawg. So far we know that the only way to get a beta access code is to pre-order Destiny at participating retailers. What about those of us who can't pre-order because we're too young and our families aren't fortunate enough to spend money at the moment? I signed up for User Research back in February and was thinking I had a fair shot since I don't live too far from Bellevue.
Does this mean User Research Test subjects don't have a chance to get into the beta?

1. Walk to your nearest gamestop. 2. Put 1-5 dollars in paper money down on Destiny. 3. Profit.
-
Probably for a private beta, or just to see what age and where the users are.
-
What happened to User Research? Nothing, it's right here. User Research has nothing to do with Destiny Public Beta. It's set up for testing purposes at Bungie's will. If you signed up or are even selected to participate in the User Research Program, that doesn't guarantee you a free spot in the beta. Right now, the only way to get in the beta is by pre ordering at participating retailers. That's all we know.

Just go put 5$ down I did but I need to go Saturday to pick up the code I hope it's still up then.
-
I wouldnt be surprised if you see an open beta.Like in Gears of War 3, where people who pre-ordered got in a week early to the other people..

Edited by DiPolarPilot: 10/2/2013 8:56:11 AMUm excuse me but the User Research page makes no reference to potential bonuses for filling it out:
"Thank you for volunteering to be a test subject! This short survey will help us understand what kind of player you are, and how you can best contribute to making great Bungie games. Please be honest in your answers. We're not just looking for one particular point of view, we're looking to build an army of gamers from all walks of life, each boasting unique opinions and gaming preferences. Even if you're brand new to gaming, your feedback is still valuable to us."
It's not Bungie's fault that you or others mightn't be in a position to put down a pre-order and get the code for the Beta.
-
lol User Research isn't gonna give you the beta.
-
you know they don't charge until the game is ready to ship in 2014. You can: 1. Save enough money till then 2. Ask your parents for christmas money. 3. ask your parents for their card, tell them they wont get charged till next year

Im not certain but the idea of only getting access to the beta through pre-ordering could be done by the hands of Activision. It is a great way to increase consumer demand and desire, in the end increasing sales. However I am not an employee of Bungie and can neither confirm or deny this. Can't you put down like a $5.00 deposit anyways?

Edited by Davey Phoenix: 10/2/2013 5:23:39 AMIf you're too young to pre order this game, you probably shouldn't try to drop any knowledge on the dudes and gals at bungie. You should ask, say please, realize that you were learning to tie your shoes, while some of these people were already writing code. Just sayin...bungie has a loot chest of knowledge, from doing this well over a decade, and exceptionally well. In all that time they've always been fair, had their reasons for what they do, and have looked out for fans. I've been on this site for six years and I don't demand special privilege. Slow your roll, son.
