The Last Airbender.
Great movie, it has quality acting, it's respectful of the source material, it's brilliantly choreographed and it's directed by a movie genius.
The actors are all very talented and the special effects are amazing.

The ending of "The Mist" was better than the book's, albeit messed up.

Apparently you never had to sit through Eragon or whatever the stupid movie was about dragons -blam!- Star Wars for content.

A) The Last Airbender actually had a phenomenal soundtrack. B) See image. Okay, as an adaptation it falls flat, but the movie took the premise and core values of the story and worked them into something marvelous. My favorite movie of all time, in fact. Based on my favorite piece of fiction of all time, in fact.

A Clockwork Orange Obviously.

Stand By Me. It was a Stephen King story called 'The Body' before it was a movie.
