Well, that was unexpected, even to myself.
After thinking about it for a long, long time, I've decided that what I originally feared would be the worst possible thing to happen in Man of Steel 2 may end up actually being the best. Dahuterschuter and ROBERTO jh have convinced me, along with the impartiality shown by David Goyer, and the continued respect of Superman Zack Snyder demonstrates, that Batman/Superman would be the best course of action for DC to take at this point.
I want a human to bring Superman down to Earth, so to speak. Right now Supes is young, and he thinks that he's got his own terms that everyone else lives by. An old, grizzled Batman beating him to the ground would be the best possible method of him learning his place- showing that he's not the all powerful man he thought he was.
But I also want Superman to beat Batman, or at least upstage him somehow in the latter acts. I want Superman to show Batman that he isn't just some alien who's come down here to do cause destruction. I want Supes to show Bats how, even while being young and inexperienced, his ideals are what sets him above Bats- that Batman's ideals aren't necessarily the best. Perhaps Superman will show Batman that fighting for what's right is preferable to fighting against what's wrong, and then we'll have the early beginnings of our Justice League- not just a bunch of superheroes fighting villains, but a bunch of heroes all keeping each other in check using their own ideologies. And at the center of it all, we have the god and the human, working with new respect for each other.
And above all, it's the goddamn Batman with motherf*cking Superman. I know what line I'll be standing for in 2015.
So yeah. Thoughts?

Agreed

Didnt read all of that. Batman should still win

I want Batman to rustle Jimmy Olsen's jimmies in Man of Steel 2.

They should just make a live action TDKR. Clint Eastwood for Batman. /thread

Edited by lazy bazooka: 10/1/2013 5:58:41 PMI'm fine with Batman beating Superman as long as: - They don't make Superman an idiot like in The Dark Knight Returns - They establish clearly that Superman is holding back the entire time because he doesn't want to kill again - Batman beats him using Kryptonite - They don't suck Batman's dick for the entire time like here
-
I'm fine with this. As long as the bias isn't so blatantly prevalent for either side.
-
I would be fine with this, but I'm 83% sure they're not going to do that. They want to make money, so they're going to pull a Robert Downey Jr. and Iron Man and make him the star to make cash.
-
TBH, I wouldn't give a shit if either won. I only really watch superhero movies to be mindlessly entertained for a couple of hours. if it meets that criteria it's fine by me. Probably the reason why I prefer the Marvel movies to the DC ones.
-
I think they need to team up. I'm godzilla.
-
It's like you made this thread to impress me...it worked
-
I personally don't want Batman to beat Superman because I find the whole "bring supes down-to-earth" concept cheesy. At this point there no reason to believe that Superman holds himself higher than humanity.

kyriptonite bullets....dead

Can't they both just play nice?

Edited by Winters Darkseid: 10/1/2013 2:56:43 AMLet's be honest here, I'm going to kill Batman and send Superman against Earth not long after this, so the point is Darkseid>Superman>Batman But in all seriousness, I agree. Also, the movie should be called Man of Steel 2: World's Finest.
-
Sounds like a blockbuster hit. So great they scrap the upcoming Godzilla movie because it is bound to fail against something so great. Do you still want Batman to beat Supes with Godzilla on the line?
-
Edited by Elegiac: 10/1/2013 2:44:58 AMThat's what I always hope. And not just for superman. For everyone. I was disappointed when Batman didn't show up in I Am Legend and school will smith.
-
Guarantee they do something like the fight gets interrupted or neither one wins and it's up to speculation.
-
I want Batman to show the world that Superman is not a god. I want him to win but only for that purpose. Just to keep the balance. Nothing personal.
-
Oh you
-
If Batman is old and grizzled, he can't be Ben Affleck.
-
Both cases have their pros and cons, but I'd rather see Superman win just to prove to the DC-uneducated that Batman is not invincible.
-
Very well said. Whoever said internet arguments don't go anywhere? (Well, me, for one.)

Edited by Turtlenomad: 10/1/2013 1:49:36 AMYou along with all teh mainstream ppl. But I think there is no way either could win, because there is no way possible those two could have a true fight without true purpose.
