[u][b]Destiny FAQ[/b][/u] With the recent influx of new members wanting to know everything there is to know about Destiny, I figured it would be a good idea to create an FAQ. Not only would it make it easier for new members to get up to speed with the game, but it would reduce the amount of frustration from those who’ve been following the game for a while now. [u][b]F.A.Q.[/b][/u] [b]What is Destiny?[/b] Destiny is a First-Person Shared-World Shooter; an FPS that draws off many MMO aspects. The game falls into the Mythic-Scifi Genre, a combination of both Fantasy and Science Fiction. [b]Who’s making Destiny?[/b] Destiny is being developed by Bungie Studios, the creators of the original Halo Trilogy, as well as Halo: ODST. The game is being published by Activision™, the publishers of the popular Call of Duty franchise. [b]What platforms will Destiny be on?[/b] As of the writing of this thread, Destiny will be available on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. There has been no official mention of a PC release, although Bungie has stated that they are open to the idea of releasing the game on PC. [b]Will Destiny require an internet connection? What about a subscription fee?[/b] To play Destiny, a constant internet connection is required. The game does not implement a subscription fee, although the PlayStation Plus and Xbox Live services will more than likely be required for online play. [b]When does the game come out? Will there be a Beta?[/b] Destiny is slated for a release sometime in Spring of 2014. There will be a public Beta starting sometime in "Early 2014". After a large alien sphere known as The Traveler arrives on Earth, it sparks a golden age and humanity spreads out across our solar system. However, our species was almost wiped out, and we were forced to retreat to the Last City under the protection of the Traveler. The game takes place entirely in our Solar System, although there have been hints towards interstellar-travel in future iterations. [b]What kind of enemies are we going to face in Destiny?[/b] As of the posting of this thread, there are five enemy species: the Fallen, the Vex, the Hive, the Cabal, and an unknown fifth enemy race. [b]Who’s the protagonist in Destiny?[/b] You are! The player takes control of a Guardian, a man or woman who has been gifted with some of the Traveler’s extraordinary power. Where you go, what you do, and how you do it is all entirely up to you. [b]How will I get around? We can travel around the Solar System, can’t we?[/b] The player will have various vehicles at their disposal. Every player will have their own space-ship, which can be customized to their liking. There are also several other known vehicles, such as the Devil Walker tank, and the Sparrow and Pike speeder-bikes. [b]Will there be competitive multiplayer in Destiny?[/b] Although there has been very little information on it, Bungie has confirmed competitive multiplayer.
