This was originally sent to the Bungie facebook page, but unsure it would ever be read, I decided to post it here, with the hope someone from Bungie would see it, moreso Jason Jones:
I don't know if you'll read this (whoever operates the page) maybe there's several of you, who knows, maybe I'm that one lucky person out of the BILLIONS of fans, just like the whole Recon fiasco back in 2007, but this is my message to you, and I only hope that it gets read.
I literally cannot wait for Destiny, not because I "luv da Bungee teem and wonto hive ur barbies!"
I got into Halo back in 2004, shortly after Halo 2 was released, all my friends had Halo and Halo 2, and I had only just got an Xbox, I wanted one for years.
I originally thought that Halo looked crap (only because I had never played a decent FPS before, and it was certainly different from MoH on the PS1, and I thought I was going to be crap.)
Little did I know, that on my 12th birthday, I would fall madly in love with Halo (not in the "I dream about it every night" sort of love, but a great fondness for it) me and two of my best friends at the time sat up all night, completing Halo: Combat Evolved and then mopping up pools of blood later in the multiplayer, when the sun rose the next morning, we moved on to Halo 2 (we took turns, don't worry, I know that there's only 2-player coop in the first two Halo games.)
Days later, I found myself begging my mum for Xbox LIVE, but we still had Dial-up at this point in time, I tried for months, but never got LIVE on the original Xbox, so I as split-screening for a very long time.
Over the years, I have still had the same fondness for the Halo games (moreso the original Trilogy, Halo 4 was somewhat a disgrace, Halo mixed with CoD, it was not meant to be, hopefully they don't keep that crap up.)
But when Bungie went dark, and nothing was heard, I waited, I checked Bungie.net every day, until one day, I lost hope.
Then suddenly, Bungie had made a great comeback, and hope was restored.
Destiny was revealed.
And now, when the Sun goes down and the Moon shows up, I look skyward, towards the stars, towards the indestinguishable red planet, and dream of the adventures I will one day have, on that red planet, and on the other planets that are millions of miles away.
Space fascinates me, it is something that everyone should look at in awe.
That is why I look forward to Destiny, because I want to become legend, and if I'm getting the chance to do it in space, I'm going to, even if it is just a videogame, I'm going to make sure that I'm not just another spec of dust out there in space, I'm a star, and I plan on being the biggest and brightest of the lot.
Thank you for all the wonderful years of gaming glory Bungie, hopefully one day I will get to work on one of your titles aswell.
