Bungie confirmed that all your Data starting on Ps3 or 360 can be carried over to the next gen, so if you start on a PS3 or 360 when the sequel comes out and you have to move to a next gen console, your character and accomplishments come with you.
Beyond the first game there is no future for nintendo
