I've been playing on my 360 for the past 5 or so years, before that I had a PS2 and PS1, but I was never very great at the games for the most part if memory serves me correctly. So for those 5 years, the 360 was my console. In the past month though, the laser in the disc tray gave me some issues so I dismantled it and now it's laying around taken apart. I got a PS3 so I could play all the games I had not before for the next few years before I felt like I should upgrade to a next-gen console, and I'm really liking it so far.
I got a 250GB Slim "Redesign", and it's fantastic so far. It's quiet as all hell, it sometimes makes so little noise that I have to put my ear right next to it to hear the inner workings, the cables for operation are slim and not eye-catching, whereas the gigantic power brick and annoying cables for the 360 are nowhere to be seen now and the area around my TV is much less cluttered, and the UI and overall feel of it in-session is pleasing to look at.
There do seem to be a lot of random options on the system menu for it, but overall I like how it's setup a lot more than how the 360 UI was. There aren't adds everywhere, and I can easily and quickly navigate without lag and such. Plus, it's wireless so no more ethernet cable for a good long while. And most surprising of all, is that I'm already really capable at using the new controller and buttons, only took me around an hour to get adjusted then I was playing like I had always had a Playstation even though it's been years since I last touched one.
Overall, I now like PlayStations more considering how great it is on my first day of playing, feel free to talk about any new developments on your end as well, I have high hopes for the PS4 and I think this just made up my mind later on.
