I was at the Eurogamer Expo earlier. Late entry, 2PM, and the queues were so awful by then that I got to play all of two games. There are reasons for that, though: trying to meet some media guys I'm trialing with was nearly impossible given that I couldn't get signal in the damn place, so that took a while. Trying to find the Destiny booth* as well, when I saw it advertised in the free magazine for the expo. Then I had to eat food to not fall over, and then the Titanfall row was for PC and not Xbox One. So I gave up on that, and then the Ryse queue was supposed to be an hour, so I said -blam!- it.
What games did I play? Well, Hohokum, for one. I have no idea. I was just flying around as a rainbow snake eye thing, illuminating the world. Still want it, of course. Maybe.
And the second game was Killzone: Shadow Fall, Sony's premiere shooter for launch. It was okay, maybe better than I expected, but I didn't expect much from the gameplay. The default controls aren't too bad, but default sensitivity is a tad bit high, or maybe they just felt that way because the screens, as usual for such events, were -blam!-ing enormous. But yeah, no, pretty good. The controller was certainly better than the DS3 for shooter control, but still not as good as the 360 one. Maybe it's down to getting used to it. But yeah, pretty fun. I pretty much steered my team to victory with several point caps and defences. Go me.
*Oh, and the beloved Fallen captain statue was on show at the booth. Don't believe me? Look at the URL that I'm posting after this in time but before it in space, just up there. How can I confirm that that fiendishly handsome fellow is me? Shut up, that's how.
Any other Eurogamers in the hourse (of Earl's Court today)?
