Earlier today, DeeJ announced the return of the freakin' Bungie Podcast. THE FREAKIN Podcast is back. THE FREAKIN' PODCAST IS BACK.
Hint:
the freakin podcast is back
This is huge. People have wanted this for a while now. And you know what? Good. But that's not the issue. The real issue is what's going on in that thread. At 2:29 in the Afternoon Bungie Time, employee and web team member Jake Lauer, AKA HelloControl, posts in the thread announcing the return of the podcast. This occurs just 13 minutes after the OP goes up.
After this, an unusually long string of employee posts happen in this sub-thread started by our friend Jake. It includes:
2 posts by Halcylon
2 posts by Urk
A 2nd post by HelloControl
And a single post by Noble Iron Sky
Now that's an impressive list of employees. Yet, something is amiss...
OH WAIT. It took several HOURS after the stream of employee posts before people even BEGAN to make comments. Little activity to the sub-thread occurred before the employee posts as well. It's disgusting.
This is completely unacceptable Bungie Community. As dedicated community members of Bungie, we took an oath. You probably don't remember it because you were hopped up on enough Morphine to kill a small elephant, but you did. We all did. We swore to uphold the principles of this community, to theorize about games, play games, and most importantly, STALK THE GOD DAMN EMPLOYEES.
So here is what we are going to do Bungie Community. We are going to promise, first of all, to never let a travesty like this ever happen again. Second, I want you all to go take a look at this user account. If you look under the people that this account has followed, you will be delighted to see that it is populated exclusively by Bungie Employee accounts. What you're going to do is follow these accounts, and check them every few minutes. If we work together on this, we can get our response down to just a few seconds! This is important Bungie Community. You took an oath, and it's time to keep it.
Non facete nobis calcitrare vestrum perinæum you classy bastards.

It's like TMZ for Bungie.net.
-
I visit the site again after a year and people aren't ass kissing anymore? Where am I?
-
Sigh. I miss the good ol' days. :/
-
So what you´re saying is that we basically have to ride the employees dicks everytime they post? -blam!- no.
-
Oh how i miss the crazy awkward conversations relating to PreODST release and the "secret project" that was mentioned several times.
-
Glad to see someone else remembers the oath.
-
You know what you forgot OP? You forgot to tell us how to even get the podcast! Personally, I've never listened to the podcast before and I have no idea why I should. Could you suggest a good podcast from Bungie's library? I checked that Employee List thing a while back and though I did use it to get some Employees, I know for a fact three of them don't have the proper tag associated. I am suspicious of its accuracy.
-
And here I was thinking you would be addressing something of actual importance. Namely how god awful the "community" has been as of late.
-
This is why the 1D forum thing beat us...
-
What did they expect? The community who disliked the new layout to stick around?
-
Edited by Progo: 9/25/2013 8:31:25 PMAgreed! Too much laziness on the community's part!
Needs more #Dragons.
-
I wish I could like a comment chain as a whole =P
-
Maybe we can offer the employees a best Photoshop contest between them. The one who wins gets a Hanes t-shirt in black or a signed employee rights poster stolen from the back store room.
-
There's been a severe lack of ass-kidding. DeeJ, get in here and let us love you.
-
I just kind of liked half their posts.
-
How could you be so insensitive at a time like this? We've just lost Joe...
-
I was more interested in the fact the Joe Staten had left Bungie. The Podcast was of little importance to me at that point. What is SAD, is the fact that both the podcast and "It's Been An Honor" were released on the same day. I can listen to the podcast anytime. IMO the Podcast was OK. omni directional mics need to be used to pick up the people that are OFF MIC. The volume needs to be jacked up as well. There needs to be a dedicated place to go to actually find the podcast. If I had a dollar for every person that posted "Where Do I Find It".........Or am I stupid and don't know where to go besides waiting in the forum for the post?
-
Don't care. I'm subscribed to Bungie and Destiny on YouTube. When something extravagant happens (instead of these bullshit weekly "mail sacks") I'll know.
-
I"M SORRY!!!!! *sobs*
-
shh... you are breaking my cover!!!

Edited by Citadel Space: 9/25/2013 8:57:01 AMEdit: Once again this one has posted in the WRONG thread! Wtf is wrong with this one?!?! This one preached about the Enkindlers in the presidium... Without an evangelical permit
In front of lolC-Sec
Something something overreacting. Got it.
-
So, in essence, you're asking that the bungie employes participate more in the community like post in users threads or make anything else related to that, ¿isn't it? In any case, that could be awesome and fun, these guys have charisma.
-
Edited by Ockeghem: 9/25/2013 3:25:07 AMSo, basically, the current crowd is able to restrain their inner fanboyism in front of the Bungie employees to a level actually resembling decorum, making the behavior that the more seasoned crowd has shown over the years look like unrestrained desperate attention seekers, hoping against hope we might actually interact with a Bungie employee (and if we don't, we can pretend we did because we replied to one of them). Oh my God you are right - this is terrible!
-
i dont understand what is happening right now.
-
Bungie employees just aren't funny.
