Cudgel of Xanthor was one of the weapons mentioned in ViDoc #2. Originally, I thought it might be a knife or sword of some kind until I looked up the definition:
cudg·el (ˈkəjəl/)
A short thick stick used as a weapon.
synonyms: club, bludgeon, truncheon, baton, mace, blackjack, billy club, nightstick, shillelagh
So thoughts? Anyone have any added insight?

They already confirmed that there's no Cudgel of Xanthor in the game. Too lazy to look for the video now but it was some of IGNs exclusive coverage, either endgame content or the video about raids.
-
Idiots..ITS IN THE NAME. Xanth = strange, alien. Xan-thor - Space Thor. Cudgel of Xanthor = Space Thor Hammer. Face smacker of Thor.
-
This is so old.... But so refreshing.... Hold me. Its almost here.

Or something like "Razor Blade" and finding out its a sub machine gun with Redicilous fire rate that can "Cut things like a Razor"

Edited by originalyellow: 11/1/2013 5:51:46 AM"Cudgel of Xanthor" is the title of an article written by the games writer, Jeff Green, in a 2007 issue of Games for Windows Magazine. Green is the former coworker of Luke Smith, the developer in the video who mentions the weapon. It's not a melee weapon, it's just a joke, chill out.

I like the idea of melee weapons. I hope there are a multitude to choose from, from cudgels to katanas.... I'm sure with as quick as those fallen can move close range weapons would come in handy.
-
Maybe it's a destiny version of the gravity hammer!
-
-
It might be the rod of Destiny!
-
Cudgel is one of my favorite semi-archaic words :) It actually might be a grenade launcher or something similar since cudgel implies brute/simple force that's very effective. However a space baton would be cool as well!
-
Certainly sounds like a melee weapon. I guess that would go in the special slot. Cudgel of Xanthor makes it sound like it belonged to Xanthor, wonder if he's an alien boss.

I'm not so sure. Gjallarhorn is a mythical viking horn, but in Destiny its the name of a rocket launcher.
