I'm talking about before the scheduled release date. It's rare to even be able to do it. I was in a Sam's Club and they had Halo CE: Anniversary on the shelves. This was November 13th on a sunday. So I walked up to the cash register... bought no problem. Got home and played it(offline of course.. not getting banned because of that shit).
So anyone else?

I can't say I've ever gotten a game early.... The things I would do to play GTA V right now...
-
On the midnight release for Halo CEA/assassin's creed they let us start playing the games around 10pm (but they couldn't sell them to us until 12). Luckily me and my buddy were the only ones there for Halo and we got to play all the way up to 343 guilty spark.

I wish.

Roommate was a manager for what would become Gamestop where we lived. Would always bring home two copies of stuff early.

Edited by Emacs: 9/12/2013 6:13:46 PMPlenty. I had: Crackdown 2, 7 days ahead of release. Played it online and had all achievements by release day. CoD: BO, 4 days ahead of release. Halo: Reach, 3-4 days ahead of release. Halo: 4, 3-5 days ahead of release. TES V: Skyrim 18 hours ahead of release. (PC) Played all applicable online too, never had any problems. There may have been some others, but I can't remember them off the top of my head.

In the UK, shopto.net almost always delivers games early. The notable exception for me was BioShock Infinite, but, if this is compensation in any way, I received DmC a full five days early. Fingers crossed I get GTAV early, because I'm going away for a week on launch day...

The manager of the store passed out Halo 3 ODST, Halo: Reach, and Halo 4 every Wednesday before the release. I just played the game through and spoiled it to my friends.

Loads. I used to run a game/dvd store, so I got my greasy mitts on what I wanted, when it arrived.
-
I got Fallout 3 and Gears of War 2 early - both were released only a few weeks apart too. I was made up at the time, and had finished the Gears campaign for the game even came out. I remember there were only like 25 of us playing multiplayer, levelling up. We all got accused of hacking becuas of the level we had by release date. Ah...good times.

4 that I can remember. Assassin's Creed Revelations and Defiance both about 5 days early, then Borderlands 2 and Saints Row 4 a day early.
-
I got Rayman Legends a day early just recently.
-
Amazon usually ships games 6-8 hours before launch.
-
Halo 4 a days before it came out
-
I got swtor like a week early even though I chose the free two week shipping from amazon.
-
Unfortunately this has never happened to me. I've been wondering how people do it because some people seem to have this happen to this consistently. Do you need to pay for one day shipping from Amazon or something?
-
I got halo 4 delivered 3 days early, didnt touch it till release date because I was paranoid that it was a trap.
-
I remember when me and my friends had gotten mw3 early
-
I saw The Force Unleashed on sale early. I had the common sense not to buy it for $60. Never managed to actually buy a game early.
-
I almost got Halo 4 early, but I accidentally left them with the details to my old card and had to wait until the new details could be processed.
-
A few times over the years yeah

Yes I have a number of times. Sometime I have my games delivered and they have ended up coming earlier than expected.
