Things to note:
1. The Entry/Date/Location/Title stamp that marks the beginning of a new section.
2. This is my first attempt at writing any kind of fanfic.
3. I'll update this post, or post new threads as necessary, to continue the journal.
4. Irregular updates imminent.

ENTRY_5_DATE_2/17/2715_LOC_MERIDIANSQUARERUINS_TITLE_GUARDIANS
I fear this may be my last entry. Not because we are close to our goal, nor because it is no longer necessary.
We must be quiet, now. They are close. I can feel their heavy machinery impact the ground every few seconds. It’s massive force shifts the snow around us and threatens to collapse our small sanctuary.
The Fallen.
I can see them through a small hole in the metal plating of our refuge, which is a collapsed visitor’s center. They’re just like the pictures and video we were shown in The Tower, only this was real; They moved in a fluid motion, and their armor creaked and as they marched. There were about six on foot and a great metal warmachine leading the pack.
They were creatures I had seen before, almost human in shape, but a few have four arms. I say human shape, but they wear cloaks that obscure all but their faces and weapons, so it's hard to tell. Their clicking and hissing created a steady stream of conversation between them, punctuated by the boom of their war machine as it leads the party though the heart of the deserted city.
Forgive my poor penmanship; It feels as if my heart is going to burst from my chest as fast and loud as it is. All ten of us are crushed into this partially collapsed room, with the roof suspended four feet from the ground. We crouch in silence, fearing to breathe.
Mart had told us to have weapons ready, but to avoid confrontation at all costs. We are not Guardians yet, and they are too many. Mart sits crouched next to what's left of the door frame, keeping the eye of his TAC-HUD trained on the enemy. His hands are steady now, and grip his weapon tightly. I figure if he were alone, he would simply escape using one of the many tricks the Guardian's seem to have hidden away. Surely the others must think this too.
But he stayed.
Once we had entered the deserted city, we had had a good time exploring the ruins of ages past. For most of the day, Mart had let us remind ourselves how young we really were. It wasn't all play: we mapped streets, buildings, and marked findings on our own personal maps. Mart had explained the importance of one's map; how it was an invaluable tool for every Guardian.
And then we heard it.
It sounded like simply the distant rumble of noise, and we dismissed it as weather or moving snow. But soon we could hear the individual impacts of great feet. Mart had wasted no time in rallying us up and fleeing the city. We ran in fear. Fear of what Mart could be so desperate to be away from. We nearly ran right into them.
The mountains and buildings betrayed us, confusing the sound and direction of them until they were nearly on top of us. How they failed to spot us before we dove into this visitor's center is beyond my understanding. Mart must have done something.
We've been sitting here for nearly an hour waiting for them to pass. The footmen move quickly enough, but the war machine (which nearly looks like a metal spider) can only move at a snail's pace. Surely it should move faster, but either they're taking their time on purpose, or something was wrong.
Karen lies to my right and Sam to my left as i write. After lying all in a row at the deepest part of the room, we had all grown somber and cold. I couldn't stand the waiting, and began writing this. They had given me doubtful looks at first, but then began to write on their own.
Everyone wishes to chronicle what could possibly be their last moments.
No. I don't want to think that way. We're not dying here. From what i can see through a few holes in the wall, they've almost reached the end of this street. My map shows they must turn. I have a feeling this could be our chance to move.

[9/11/13] A little short i think, but I've been completely swamped since I've recently entered university. I promise this is not dropped, i simply took a little hiatus in order to not go completely bonkers. More to come, and it gets juicy. I've looked over the suggestions for group name/ handles, and i'm liking what i see ;)
