WARNING: long ass thread ahead, hang on tight
It's been about 90 years since the end of the relatively brief last Rift Event War. Since that time the Dragons have gone into isolation, Humanity has expanded itself into nations from city-states to empires, Angels and Daemons continue to battle occasionally as per usual. But with increasing tension and hostility between all sides and everyone playing hot potato with a pair of stones (One white, one black) with so much raw, unstable power they could supposedly spark an apocalypse if brought together (but aren't as powerful as everyone thinks).....you know where this is going.
1. Draco-Human Alliance: Humanity and Dragonkind have had a closely knit, if quite unusual alliance, for as long as either side can remember, going back to the end of the first Rift Event War (When Humans first entered the realm from our own realm during the great migration period of history). Both recognize each-other as survivors, enduring the harshest of conditions and, seemingly able to adapt to anything, coming out on top every time. Both are very egalitarian races, seeing gender roles, racial differences and other such things as arbitrary and without benefit.
- The semi-nomadic Dragons have agreed upon a pact for the entire species to never interfere with the affairs of others in the realm, only concerning themselves and they're ties with the humans. Immune to the effects of the atmosphere's natural mana, they are highly resistant to magic, but are unable to use it themselves. Instead, Dragon mystics and other magic users draw from a source similar to Chi from the natural life force given off by all living organisms. Their sheer might and power, ability to fly, breathe fire and regenerate (although somewhat slowly) along with their adaptability, tougher-than-nails hides and surprisingly excellent strategic abilities have firmly set them as more than capable warriors and a force to be reckoned with.
- As stated, Humanity originally came from Earth during the great migration period through naturally occurring dimensional rifts caused by severe mana instability that occurred from the first of the RE wars. Since then, Humanity has become one of the most revered and despised civilizations in the realm, using their adaptability, unpredictability and technological expertise to overcome whatever challenges awaited them, as for magic they learned to tap into the mana quite easily and combined it with their own knowledge. With this came everything from enchanted weaponry to Mana-infused mechs made of blackened or blued Titanium and twice the size of a man.
The Alliance only wishes to find the stones to destroy them and seal their fragments away, possibly as museum pieces.
High Angelic Legion: The High angels have been a major military power since their unification by their (biologically) immortal God-Emperor some 5000 years prior to the events of the present. Since then they have become ultra-nationalistic, ultra-fanatical and elitist. The High Angels are most credited for the extinction of the Elvish peoples some 1200 years prior, although the reasons for doing so are unclear to this day. High Angels are also very skilled in magic, particularly light based offensive and healing magic. Their strict religious and militaristic culture, extremely selective breeding, excellent strategic abilities of the Seraph guard (Their top generals) and natural affinity with mana has placed them as some of the most fearsome fighters and conquerors in the realm.
- In Angelic society, all males are required to serve in the Legion for at least 5 years of their life, as such their army is the largest and most ordered in the realm. All Angelic Forces have Ivory white plate armor with golden detailing. They prefer to use traditional melee weapons and magic rather than ranged weapons such are bows and crossbows (They feel they never really needed them) out on the field. Whatever the situation, their tried and true tactics and refusal to surrender or retreat has served them for thousands of years and will probably serve them a thousand more.
The angels wish to use the stones to "purify" the realm and take the vacant space for themselves....cue the M. Bison quote.
Daemon Burning Legion: Ah the Daemons, once dozens of tribes and city-states from the volcanic Blacklands to a unified, diverse culture that has since become the rivaling power to the High Angels. Unlike the angels the unification of the Daemons happened naturally overtime, rather than being unified by one or a few major figures, thus each culture was able to contribute everything from fighting styles to architecture to all the other cultures, creating a melting pot of economic growth and military power. Magically speaking, preferences and abilities vary greatly and generally isn't centralized, fire based magic is often the most popular, it being the most available. Because of all this, the Daemons are able to keep up with the Angels every step of the way.
- As stated, Daemons have a vast array of weapons and tactics in their hypothetical tookits. They often employ unconventional (such as guerrilla tactics) and improvised warfare and change tactics constantly to adapt to the situation, much like Humans. They tend to fight savagely and use everything they have as a weapon of some sort. With all this they can easily make up for their smaller armies compared to the sheer numbers of the angels, and easily cement themselves as the quickest of conquerors and most brutal of warriors.
The Daemons wish to use the stones' power to further advance their military, wipe out the angels and then seal them away....you know, for later.
Alright, Flood, you must choose your side, which do you prefer? Who will you fight alongside?
BONUS FOR THE LULZ: Go to TV tropes and list as many tropes as you can that applies to each of the three factions, I'll only keep this little bit up until someone does it!

Can I mount a GAU-8 onto my dragon and fly him around like a Jet?
