So last night I marathoned from start to finish, back to back, Madoka Magica.
Why the Hell is this anime so popular? I'm the guy who has analyzed Evangelion episode by episode by I can't see where people are coming from with the whole "HURR 2DEEP4U" bullshit. It's a good show, it's great, but in terms of depth and character interaction, it certainly isn't anywhere near Eva.
This show is highly over rated. Anyone care to explain why this show keeps getting 10/10 everywhere?
Also, -blam!- the ending. Why didn't Madoka just make that wish earlier since everyone seemed to have suffered being a magical girl.

Edited by PandaJerk007: 9/12/2013 9:10:21 AMIt was a rather good series, however, I also didn't like the ending. It felt like they tried to go for a really epic ending,
by Madoka giving up herself for everyone,
but it didn't come off that great to me. I would have prefered it if the series was longer, and Madoka and her friend(s) found some other way to overcome the evil.

Shoku Un Chuthulu Frakka Westiningan Shana Quelan Xerra is better

Umm OP are you sure you have spend enough time on /a/ or what? There are tons of people on there that praise it, but there are also plenty of people that talk shit about it for a variety of reasons. Personally I think it is a good show and is a nice change from the cliches of the genre, but I definitely don't think it is the best thing ever. Also Eva is overrated.

I'm guess i'm the only person on this site that thought Madoka Magica was really great. *prepares for shitstorm*

I got to episode 2 and then quit. 4deep2me I'm now going through Shakugan No Shana.

Edited by God: 9/8/2013 8:24:21 PMI don't browse anime sites very much so I didn't realize people hyped it to Evangelion-level. I liked it cause it was short, looked pretty, and thought that Kyubey was a great parody. That's about it, I didn't really understand much of the overarching conflicts (like how Magical Girls apparently all fall into despair once they realize they are basically liches, when personally I don't see what's so bad about being a lich). I didn't think it was any darker or deeper than Nanoha, the only other show of that genre I've seen.

Honestly, I ask the same questions about Evangelion itself.
-
I have yet to see this bundle of moe

because "Moe".
-
I agree. I think it's good, but not as great as everyone else believes it is.

You're looking at it the wrong way. Don't look at it like Evangelion as some deep, ERMAHRMAHGEHRDSYMBOLISM sort of thing, or a character driven sort of thing. It's akin to Evangelion in that it's a dark satire of it's respective genre. In the case of Madoka, it takes the Magical Girl genre and flips it on it's head, making it darker and grimmer over time than the usual cheerful, bubbly cheesecake that's the norm of the genre.

Is this it?

Madoka wasn't 2deep4u... it was fairly simple (yet slightly broken) physics.
-
I think I watched like 10 episodes and then just quit.

Yeah. Fuck anime.
