The reason that Destiny would not work on the WiiU is simply because the WiiU lacks something important that all the other major systems have: A reliable online gaming system. While the WiiU is pretty close to the current gen systems, hardware-wise, it doesn't have a setup anywhere close to Xbox LIVE or PSN. Add to that the very small user-base of the WiiU due to Nintendo's terrible job marketing the console, and there really is no good reason to even attempt porting a game like Destiny over to it.

Actually the Wii U is not "pretty close" to the PS3 or Xbox 360 it is more powerful than those 2, but not as powerful as PS4 or Xbox One. But yeah I agree with you Nintendo Network is just no where near as good as Xbox Live or PSN.

It has online... *facepalm* It exceeds 7th generation *double facepalm* Miiverse aynone? Sharing screenshots? *triple facepalm* No reason? Oh.... If you only knew what Nintendo fans like *mega facepalm*
A reliable online gaming system...anywhere close to Xbox LIVE or PSN
It has online, but it's not set up in a way so that Destiny would be very functional. It isn't as reliable a service as PSN or Xbox LIVE.
While the WiiU is pretty close to the current gen systems, hardware-wise
The WiiU has hardware capability that is close to that of the 360. It's a bit better, but it's much closer to the current gen than it is to the next gen. The MiiVerse has nothing at all to do with Destiny, neither do screenshot sharing. The WiiU would not be a good platform for Destiny. There isn't a large userbase, the online is terrible and unreliable, and the architecture is different from the current gen systems, making a port from the PS3 or 360 time consuming and expensive. There is no good reason for Bungie to worry about the WiiU.

Dude, You really don't know a thing about netcode, do you?

Actually no, the Wii U is about middle of the road between this Gen and next Gen.
