So we already know you can just hold your gun, as opposed to aiming it. And we know you can holster your guns in certain social areas. But did anyone else notice the way the character models body moved to look around in the latest vidoc, when they were going through the different armors? That's some realistic head turning torso moving shit, as opposed to turning your whole fergin body which no one does in real life, unless you're in battle. This wouldn't be possible in-game though, unless there was some kind of realistic-body-movement mechanic that would maybe only be toggled when in third-person-gun-holstered mode, which would be fergin awesome at times where we have a meeting of minds. Imagine everyone turning their heads to pay attention to who is speaking, instead of everyone awkwardly stepping in place to turn their whole bodies.
That subhuman style of moving, is what places the biggest barrier between our world and the world of gaming.
I doubt it'll be possible to move your head/torso like that when the game comes out. It was probably just for the sake of the vidoc, but am I alone in thinking that if your character can sit, lean, angle his/her head and torso etc, it makes the world much more real? I'm talking beyond gestures. I'm talking basic human body movement that can be done anywhere anytime. I want to be able to holster my guns and chill out in the wild, not only in the social zones.
The concept doesn't sound too hard. When in third person mode, looking around will mainly turn your head, and when your head can turn no more, then your body moves accordingly such as we do in real life. As for sitting. I'd be happy with sitting on the floor or a chair.
The first version of Destiny probably won't focus on it that much. Bungie has much bigger fish to fry, but maybe in one of the sequels when the game has progressed enough to leave the Xbox 360 and Ps3 behind and REALLY get in deep with some rendering without making sacrifices to the gameplay itself.
Either way, the first game to master the control of the characters body, will be ground breaking for open world gaming. And right now I feel like Destiny, which focuses very hard on the GAME WORLD aspect, is the closest possible contender. A lot of you won't care about this kind of thing, but anyone who's ever watched .hack or Sword Art will understand. It won't be just a video game anymore.

Hell yes they should code this in. Add quite alot of the things the fans have been suggesting and it'll be the best game ever, I don't even care if it's expensive or is 60 Gigs.

I don't doubt its possibility , merely the ability of developers to program that level of detail in character movement into controllers , a small possibility exists with the current Move , the Wii mote and Kinect , but its a very small one .
