Just to add onto what Charlemagne said, your race is purely cosmetic and has no influence on your class (Hunter, Warlock, or Titan.)

This is old news. You are going to be able to play as three different races in Destiny: Humans, exactly what you'd expect; Awoken, mystical space elves; Exos, robotic Humanoids.
