So the beta is open to the public now (Free download in PS store). Its basically just the multiplayer opened up. One map, one game type(Warzone). Allows you to rank up and gain points early. Played a couple games so far and it looks pretty solid. Took a while to get used to the controls and understand how to hack etc. Its definitely fun and addicting though. I'm really digging Warzone and its mixed game objectives. Graphics look fantastic of course (triluminous displays ftw).
Had a few connection issues, but that's probably because I'm currently in the middle of no where. Does seem to suck a bit of battery as well, but that's to be expected. Other than that I'd definitely recommend it and can't wait for September 10th. So what are your guy's thoughts on Mercenary so far?

Free content coming! I would gladly pay for the botzone feature.

I'm still loving this game, even though I'm pretty bad.

There is a certain case with a select few games where I am in overwhelming disagreement with the general consensus of game reviewers. KZ: M is one of those games. It's sitting at 78 metacritic which blows my mind, as this game is the reason the Vita exists. This game is: high budget, graphically beautiful, fun, twin-stick FPS, great controls, great online - everything you could ask for out of a mobile game. But then you skim the reviews and see the irony of reviewers complaining about a 5 hour campaign when the same people gave a 20-min iOS game a 9+ Of course, game reviews don't influence my buying habits (in fact, I say get rid of them - the biased opinions of nobody's do more harm than good - only franchises that actually benefit are the AAA games with $100m+ budgets), but it bothers me that many many people will pass this game just because it isn't 90+. tl;dr game is good, buy it or else hand-in your Vitabro membership card

My PSN name is too_real_for_TV if any of you feel like playing. I warn you I'm not very good. Leave your names here too so I know who I'm getting request from.

Once a bundle comes out I will own this game. I will platinum it; since I have the other 3 done.
-
I'm not very good at this.

I got the game yesterday and have finally got around to playing a few matches online. I have to say I am very happy with my purchase.

This game is awesome.

So far kind of cool. Definitely going to take some time to get use to these controls though.

Been playing it whenever I can, which isn't often been struggling with connection issues. Played 4 games today, finished one and thats only because I joined in round 4. It's my first killzone game and I'm loving it, I'm also really good at it which is always a bonus. PSN: DiamondRabbit

KZ Mercenary is so fun I am surprised how much I enjoy it. I like that its more team based than others (COD I'm looking at u) and all the little things you learn to pick up on. When I started it said I was pretty good not amazing because I didn't know how to hack interrogate or about explosives and vanguards only how to shoot but every day since starting I ranked up and became an ace of clubs. I figured out hacking after some fumbling with the joystick not realizing it was touch (now I consistently score at least 30 points in the two hacking portions) then I learned to hear the beeping of the motion explosives and how it was different from friendly ones and that interrogations only happen from behind and reveal enemy locations. If the other maps in mp are as good and the single player keeps the quality I expect I'm going to sink way too much time into this game
-
I personally think Mercenary's MP is superior to its console counterparts. So much more variety, I love it. Day one.
-
I had an early access beta code but sadly, no psvita. :(. I'm a huge Killzone fan, too.
-
Loving it. For a handheld FPS, it really is impressive. I cut back on playtime to not get burnt out before the release Add me on PSN: Deadpool-KoH

Edited by Mike: 8/28/2013 6:51:50 PMI have this pre-ordered. Definitely hope it is good. It'll be my first time playing a Killzone game as I am a converted xbox player. edit: i can't find the beta on the PS Store page. I'm not a plus member yet. Is that why I can't see it?
