So we have this concept: Less focus on linear story and more focus on stories accumulated with your friends. I wasn't sure what to think about this at first (and I'm still not entirely sure) but maybe they are onto something that we just don't realize yet.
So what do you think? Are you excited for this new concept of story? Do you prefer linear story? Do you think there will even be a major linear story in light of this? Or do you think Bungie could really be onto something here?

Frankly, I think it's a brilliant move. It's obviously the next logical step for gaming this new gen. In order to insure that gamers continued to come back to a certain game, developers would release DLC add-ons. But, they were too few and too far in between. What if (knowing your players are always connected), you could simply update a game with new scenarios weekly? It wouldn't even need to be a major instance. Just something to show the player that the world is constantly evolving, and offering something new for the player to encounter. There will always need to be a linear story as far as progress and end game are concerned. The best you can do is to figure in several different contingencies to get the player to arrive there. But, what of there was no end game? This would leave your scripting completely open, and would allow you to just keep building the world until it almost takes a life of its own. Question is, are we there yet? Is this something we're going to see this gen? Instead of making sequels, keep adding to the game you already have.
