Jealousy often consists of a combination of emotions such as anger, resentment, inadequacy, helplessness and disgust. Also known as a universal human experience.
In psychology - Jealousy in children and teenagers has been observed more often in those with low self-esteem and can evoke aggressive reactions.
Not to be confused with ENVY though the emotions often overlap due to the possibility of experiencing both at the same time..
The common experience of jealousy for many people may involve:
Fear of loss
Suspicion of or anger about a perceived betrayal
Low self-esteem and sadness over perceived loss
Uncertainty and loneliness
Fear of losing an important person to another
Distrust
The experience of envy involves:
Feelings of inferiority
Longing
Resentment of circumstances
Ill will towards envied person often accompanied by guilt about these feelings
Motivation to improve
Desire to possess the attractive rival's qualities
Disapproval of feelings
Do you suffer from jealousy on a regular basis? Have you ever acted out in a ridiculous manner due to such an emotion? Have you ever dated someone who was, by your definition, EXTREMELY jealous and how did that work out for you?

I was too. It didn't end well, but we're friends still.

1) Sometimes do act all jelly. What do you think? 2) I'm already obnoxious enough, being jelly makes me twice as obnoxious. 3) Nope

I eat from the jelly bowl from time to time. I wouldn't say it's a regular thing.

Jealousy will only distract me.
1: Do you suffer from jealousy on a regular basis? 2: Have you ever acted out in a ridiculous manner due to such an emotion? 3: Have you ever dated someone who was, by your definition, EXTREMELY jealous and how did that work out for you?
1: No. Not any more. I certainly did when I was younger. Then I recognized that my feelings of jealousy came from my own fears of loss, inadequacy or loss of control, and I faced those fears and continue to face then whenever they may come up. 2: Oh definitely. When I was younger and didn't understand the root cause of those feelings. 3: When I was younger and had those feelings, I was usually the one in the relationship who had them. It was seeing them in my partner that allowed me to come to the understanding of where those feelings (in myself) originated. They were a sort of mirror that allowed me to see it at work in them, and realize what was happening to me when I was experiencing those feelings. When you have them yourself, you are usually too involved in the feelings/reactions that you are having to even TRY to examine them. Seeing them in someone else helped me to identify the trigger(s) and reactions I was having, and then control them (better and better each time).

Go to walmart to be jealous.

Came into this topic expecting to be mocked, was surprised. Yes I experience Jealously sometimes when it comes to relationships and people I still care about, such as girls I haven't really landed anything with or when I hear about a great time someone had over the weekend. I also sometimes feel jealous when I hear about someone having a great time with someone that I wish I could see more often, but recently all of that has been more or less gone. I don't tend to get jealous or envious of much anymore though, after High School a lot of that went away and now I feel more neutral about everything and don't get bothered by it anymore.

I 200/200'd Hexic HD last week. Gods such as myself have nothing to envy or be jealous of.
-
I am jealous of others often but I never show it but then again I look down on a lot of people as well.
-
You bitches are jealous of me! Get on my level, nerds! I bench press 350 pounds, play football, have 3 girlfriends and 6 figures in my checking account.
Do you suffer from jealousy on a regular basis?
I guess so when it comes to relationships. I would say I'm jealous seeing people happy with another person and I'm left alone, without someone to care for or care about. It hurts and I hate it.

So what's the difference between envy and jealousy? That list of things was all pretty abstract with no sharp contrast. Yeah, I've felt it in the past. When crushes have dates and such. Although, perhaps surprisingly, I'm more happy for some but more envious/jealous when others do it. I think I know why. But it's not a good emotion to feel and I know that.
-
Not too often, but it happens.
-
I'm very jealous while in relationships. I've never been one to share.
-
I try to think of what I have that many people in the world don't have whenever I feel jealousy.

Never really felt jealousy. I usually tried to keep myself detached from people anyway. I'm not saying I've never felt it. I have felt Distrust and Fear of loss before, and maybe some others. it just wasn't something I felt often. I've felt more envious though, I've felt Longing, Motivation to Improve, and Disapproval of Feelings. But it still wasn't often. I try not to worry if I feel bad though.
-
No Not really Nope
-
I don't really get jealous often. And when I do, I try to avoid acting hastily because of it.
-
I get jealous sometimes, but I don't freak out because of it
